PLEASE READ: THE REASON THE STEELERS ARE LOSING!

Postby NJSteel27 » Mon Dec 07, 2009 9:02 am

Aside from the "catchy" title, I feel that the reason for the Steelers losing games this season is quite simple and, in fact, can be attrinuted to one salient fact: THE OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR KNOWS DIDLY-SQUAT ABOUT CALLING A GAME!
As means of support, I maintain the following:

The games (and thus, the game plan) are played TOO CLOSE TO THE VEST. That is, there isn't enough wiggle-room in the score to recover from:

1. A blown coverage or other defensive blunder (we've certainly seen many of them this season.....just look at yesterday's Raiders game. It's sad to see such ineptitude).
2. A punt return or kickoff runback for a TD (or to set up a game altering FG).
3. An interception of Ben (or whomever is playing QB) that leads to a score by the defense.
4. A fumble recovery by the defense, setting up the offense for a game-altering score.
5. A BAD CALL by a referee like pass interference or personal foul that sets up an offense to score a game altering FG or TD.

If Bruce Arians knew what he was doing (and by the evidence of yesterday's game, he certainly has NO CLUE WHATSOEVER HOW TO CALL A GAME), the Steelers would have employed a "killer-style" offense to SCORE POINTS......that way, if you have more than 10 points, so to speak, at the end fo the game, if any of the above-mentioned scenarios occur, it WILL NOT AFFECT the outcome of the game.

It's clear that Mike-the-excuse-maker-big-mouth-Tomlin cannot even pull the reins on his coordinators, let alone the rest of the team. MIKE, too, must GO!

I'll bet you if "double" Ass Arians salary with a 70 - 80% 3rd down conversion rate for year or after each game (game bonus, whatever), you'll see chains move. This guy has NO clue how to move a ball upfield.

MeMo, and now Mendy cutting lose, Miller and Ward as clutch guys, HOW THE HELL DO YOU NOT CONVERT?

Do the same for the "Generous Genius" (generous as in giving yards to other guys).
Get off the field on 3rd down %.

This is pathetic.
