Has Politics Destroyed This Organization?

Postby StillDodger » Sun Dec 06, 2009 7:37 pm

I don't know how the Rooneys were politically prior to the Obama election, but I sometimes wonder if such political affiliation can destroy some players' motivation to perform.

I think the Rooneys were fine until the Obama kiss-up prior to this season. It's a poison pill, as far as I'm concerned. (It wouldn't make any difference had it been allegiance to the Republicans. The Dem players on the team would have had similar loss of motivation.) I just think any sports team that outwardly associates with a national political organization will only destroy whatever chemistry the team might have otherwise had.
Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.

I am no fan of Obama, but can he cover a receiver?

YES! The planting of Rooney lips firmly upon Obamas ass resulted in the Steelers president getting bored with his tiresome Steelers and leaving the country for more noble things. This message was not lost on the current coaching cabal. The head Cat left town and the mice have been chewing on cheese ever since. Rudderless. I watch the hesitancy and the lethargy and the lack of attention to detail and the deer in the headlight look and I have been thinking that ever since

Get the tea bags out of your eyes man. Rooney had a chance to serve his country and also his ancestral homeland at the same time. That was a no brainer. This is the most asinine, unreal thread I've ever seen up here, which is saying something.

Looking forward to watching you devolve into racist goons vis a vi Tomlin now.

You know what? I didn't like rooney saying that on the podium either but it's neither here nor there.. how you can say that led to defensive and other breakdowns halfway through the next season is beyond me. I'm not gonna respond otherwise because this has gotten ugly enough.

I agree Rooney hand no right to play politics at the Super Bowl. This has nothing to do with race, it is fact! True Obama can't cover receivers, but Rooney decided to give praise to Obama for his support. What games did he attend? How many tickets did he buy? How much Steeler clothing did he purchase? Rooney should have shown gratitude to the fans and the team the Steelers true supporters, not his new boss.

The left wing loons always scream race when they can’t make a valid point. Besides since Obama is only half black why is he always referred to as black? The other half is white. So what side is racist the back or the white?

I honestly can not begin to understand this.

Among other things, you're saying this whole year was preordained. You think clark said, "f- it. rooneys in Ireland. I'll drop this interception against the Bungles"?

No Janine, leave it to a lefty to fabricate and revise history. Noone said the whole year was preordained. I stated many times that Rooney moving closer to Obamas fanny was the first sign of organizational lapse.

By the way. I thought you were done with the subject. Liar. Is that you LloydGreene?

It's not just "this" mess....... It's going to linger on for the next few seasons, I'm afraid.............

He'd probably do better than what we currently have................

I could not have said it any better...........

I hope the Rooneys just stay quiet with the politics...... Maybe time will make any negative motivational effect go away.
