I agree on the Harrison points. The Ward TD reminded me of a Randel El TD, from the '03 preseason vs. Dallas, that got called back because he dropped it 6 YDS OOB... What a joke, when's a catch not a catch??? The first down looked short, but the camera was about 15 yards down field from it. The hash was on an angle. From what I've heard, the nose of the ball was touching the stick. We'll see what Periera says this week. It's been glossed over by the media too.

only legitimate gripe. the other two i cannot agree with. this one, however. isn't it time to start holding referring accountable for blown calls? when is enough enough? this better not be over-looked. some sort of punishment would be nice to see, goodell. you're the next contestant on, 'under the microscope!'.

when's a catch not a catch?

that is one of the best damn questions about nfl rules. unfortunately, i am not clear. over the years, have secure control, two feet in (or on a knee/knees). then they added the whole 'football move' which was another paradox inside itself. now you must have 'possession' before going out of bounds.

i say it wasn't a catch. it was close. live and real-time, it certainly looked like one. it was either the last, or next to last angle that showed that he never secured the ball, thus never possessing the ball. close but no cee-gar. i too said, 'nice catch, hines!' before seeing the replay.

It also looked like holding on #31 on the kick-off return for the touchdown

that wasn't much of a hold at all. that, and it occurred well after the play/ball had passed them, thus making the action irrelevant to the outcome of the play. that's the only explanation i could come up with as to why a flag wasn't thrown. otherwise, it looked like a pretty obvious tug of the jersey.

holding is so objective, it is sickening. speaking of which :

i don't recall seeing any holds stand out against harrison. i do recall seeing a replay of him going around the corner with the tackle having pretty good leverage on him one-handed. i didn't see any of the usual clothes-lines or choke-slams.
