Will Troy & FWP play against the Browns?
CBSSports.com reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Willie Parker (toe) is still suffering significant pain from turf toe and may miss the team's Week 6 game. "It's too early to talk about that now," Parker said. "We're definitely taking it day by day."
CBSSports.com reports Pittsburgh Steelers SS Troy Polamalu (knee) could return to action in Week 6. Polamalu's return depends on his lateral movement and his stopping and starting during practice this week. "We'll know more this week if Troy plays or not," head coach Mike Tomlin said.

We won't need either against the Browns. Actually we won't need GWP for the rest of the season.

We will need all of our healthy players to end this season right. Willie was showing the same results as Mendy in the first few games. I think it was coaching/scheme/technique that established our run game again- not just Mendy. But he definitely took advantage. Mendy was not scoring on the goal line in pre season. Now he is... I think it's better team play. Everyone seems to forget that Mendy was a scratch a few weeks ago.
See the article on plunge vs delay. That was not just Mendy but an effective scheme.
Willie in that same scheme may have had similar results against the chargers. We won't know until he gets his touches. He still needs to get on the field... whoever starts I'll let the coaches decide. but I think it serves us well to have two 800-yard rushers vs one 1600 yard rusher, if they are capable of pulling that off. (Oooops, sorry coach Arians. I meant two 300 yard rushers instead of one 600 yard rusher. What was I thinking?)
And if Willie doesn't respond like Mendy... Bench his ass for Mendy and Mo!
TP needs this game to get some legs under him before the Vike-adins ...oops I mean Brett Favre comes to town. I think they need to keep him deep this week and let him run to the ball. No freak defenses, but solid coverage and run-support. AND KEEP HIS ASS OFF SPECIAL TEAMS!
I am looking forward to the next 3 weeks to tell us a lot about our team's focus and caliber.
BRING IT ON!

Troy needs to stay out another week. There is no need to rush him back for the Brownies.

Mendenhall wasn't really getting enough carries to show what he had imo, until recently. As much as I'm thankful for what willie did for the steelers in the past, he's no longer our guy. There are plays that mendenhall pulls off that I just wouldn't see willie making. I've already seen a few times when mendy saw a hole close up the middle, and he bounced it outside for a gain (or TD vs detroit). Willie doesn't make these kind of runs. I kept saying all along that parker has great speed in a straight line, but isn't quick enough to cut runs to the outside if there's nothing. That 7 yd TD would probably have been stopped for a 2 or 3 yard gain if that was willie with the rock on that play.

Troy coming back is a plus as for gwp he and limus peed should not be dressed the rest of the season and both should be given a ticket outa town. However i think limus peed wouldnt be able to catch the bus.

Judging from past history, Troy is not the best at dealing w/ an injury. Even Mike Logan called him out 2 yrs ago by saying he can't play anywhere near his abilities, the way some guys can (i.e. Harrison, Hines, etc). I would honestly feel better off seeing the Stillers sit him til the bye wk, & if they lose to Minn & go 4-3 at the break, so be it. A healthy Troy for the last 9 gms, starting in Denver, make more sense.

I hope Troy plays a little to get his legs back and get into the rythm. Willie hopefully won't play because Mendenhall needs to get some carries for experience. We have some challenging teams coming up and if he gets rolling, our offense will succeed. Let's go Steelers!!!!

Troy needs to return to get back into rythem. If he is healed let'em play, don't wait for a hard team and try to return him thinking that he will pick right back up where he lefted off.
