ONSIDE KICK, A LOOK BACK
THINKING ABOUT THE ONSIDE KICK MUFF....DON'T YOU THINK IT WOULD OF BEEN BETTER TO JUST LET THE BALL SCREAM OUT OF BOUNDS...THERE WAS NO HOP TO IT, IT WAS A LINE DRIVE WORM BURNER. JUST SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT NEXT TIME, HOW ABOUT PUTTING HEATH AND WARD OUT THERE TWO PEOPLE WITH GOOD HANDS

Can you imagine what was happening in Mundys mind in the split second he realized a football was screaming directly at him?

Re: ONSIDE KICK, A LOOK BACK
I agree.... we have seen the replay a dozen times. It's EASY for us to make that call. I can't even begin to ask Mundy to make that split second decision.
I can however ask him to CATCH the damn ball. In reality, Tomlin should have been aware of the situation and had the Hands team on the field. We only had 5 or 6 guys up on the line. Usually, for Onside kick prevent they have 9.

Could you imagine however, our reaction if Mundy steps away from that ball to let it go out of bounds - then it takes one of those strange football hops.
I could never question a player trying to jump on an onside kick. I thought we were all a little more football-informed than that.

Re: ONSIDE KICK, A LOOK BACK
The lack of a hands team out there shows a breakdown in coaching when in the 4th quarter. Most of that blame goes on the coaches...Tomlin should have been asked about that one in the postgame.
