I see the same second half collapse of our defense that the rest of you witnessed. I also saw special teams give up 14 points.

We still have a LOT of work to do on 60 minute football. There are many things that need to be addressed.

But we won people. We played well enough to win and showed glimpses of dominance in the first half against a really good football team who never gave up.

We won but losing Troy on D has been like losing Ben on O - we become extraordinarily ordinary. One thing to keep in mind when saying we'd get waxed if we play NE, Balty, etc: THIS TEAM ALWAYS PLAYS UP OR DOWN TO THE COMPETITION!! They very rarely put the gas to the pedal - in fact only team they may have done that w/ last yr was NE. As far as the AFC North, the Crows play the Bungles this wk & then have to face the Vikes & Broncos. The Bungles tangle w/ Houston & Chicago in the near future & then play SD, Minn, & the Jetz to close out the season. We have Det & the Clowns the next 2 wks- great chance for all 3 teams to be 4-2 by Wk 7.

I agree with all the criticism of our play, our execution and our lack of focus in the 4th quarter. I understand how we seemed to fall off the table in the second half.

I will not, however, allow my displeasure at our play to override the fact that we found a way to win -and we WON the game, it wasn't handed to us by the other team or the officials. We overcame some PISS POOR decisions on the field and the sideline, but we won. We still have 3/4 of the season ahead of us, Troy is on the way back and we still OWN our destiny.

I believe that this is the same team that won the super bowl last year and that we will still finish the season in the top tier of the AFC (and win our division) and have EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO REPEAT. We sputtered to a 2-2 start, not 1-3 or 0-4. Our best football is ahead.

To say that the Pats or Ravens would have handed us our butts... I say we just as easily would have stayed focused against better competition and blown them out. I put my hypothesis up against yours and both are impoossible to prove. That is, until we play them and I hope we do see the Patsies in the playoffs. I am disappointed in our play for sure, but I still get excited about what lies ahead.... oh yeah and Fire Arians.
