The oline's making plenty of holes,
parker's just too stupid to run through them. He'd rather run into the back of his own blocker, run smack dab into a defender, or fall flat on his face after the first one armed tackle attempt.

I thought you meant the holes leading to Ben.

Don't drink the kool aide. How can you have a ground game when you put your best runner on the practice squad?

12 yards in the first half, says we have no running game.
Re: The oline's making plenty of holes,
That's what I said. But it's not because of the oline. It's because we have a featured back who runs with his eyes closed. There's been plenty of holes, we just need a back who can see them.

Re: The oline's making plenty of holes,
the question is,
IS it the right hole?
IS it the right hole?
Re: The oline's making plenty of holes,
Aw c'mon. In football as in war things hardly ever go exactly as planned. The back has to be flexible enough to take what the defense gives him or what the oline is able to provide for him. Don't you think it's disheartening for an olineman to work hard only to watch the star running back repeatedly go down with single arm tackles?

Re: The oline's making plenty of holes,
yeah i like willie and all but hes gotta break a fucking arm tackle here and there. If he cant do it put someone in there who can. The blocking isnt gonna be perfect all the time. You gotta move a pile here and there, not fall down as soon as you are touched.

Redman is their best runner? The titans aren't exactly push-overs when it comes to running the football, nor were the "holes" you claim to be there, there as often as you claim to have been. Parker might have danced, but Mendenhall didn't, and he was often hit as soon as he hit the line. Of course, Redman might have better vision than both of those players right? I'm not defending Parker, but as denver used to prove. If your line is good, you don't need a great back.

Don't you think it's disheartening for a star running back to have to break single arm tackles three yards in the backfield nearly every time he gets the ball...It goes both ways. Neither the line or Willie are helping the other much
Re: The oline's making plenty of holes,
Funny how the running improved when they put Moore in. What'd they do ship in a different ol when he carried the ball? For Parker the hole has to be 6 yards wide and practically in front of his face for him to get positive yardage. And even then FAST Willie Parker always gets run down from behind.
Fumblehall is a p u s s y. That's all that needs to be said about him.
I agree that blocking and running work two ways and have to go hand in hand. The best ol eventually will give up on runners who consistently run exactly as the play was called regardless if a defender or their own blocker happens to be in the way. Or if they do juke they juke away from the hole into the traffic. And then they go down quicker than a nine dollar whore. It's so obvious it smells. You guys see it. You just like to argue.

Improved when they put Moore in? Parker 1.5 ypc Moore 1.6ypc. Yeah huge improvement. I like Moore better then FWP at this stage but to say the running game improved lastnight is just wrong. Call Mendenhall what ever name you want, it's still the Oline that bombed in the running game last night. I agree the backs have to take what the D gives them but last nights running game was one of the worst i can remember.

Good point, I saw multiple holes in between the tackles last night, but Wee Weenie Parker wants to fucking bounce everything outside like a scared bitch. The pathetic fuck is too damn scared to run inside.......fuck him. This one-hit wonder doesn't need a new contract, he needs cut (and soon).

We've all seen him get to the 2nd level then make a cut RIGHT INTO the last defender. It is the EZ take down that bothers me. He is no power guy but I love Moore as he gives heart, smarts, and versatility. Parker is not worth signing and 2 more outings like this and he'll be keeping the benches from wandering off the field. He has no anticipatory vision - a vision to see where after to go after he makes a guy miss, if he even does THAT! Saw it last night, when he got thru the line but cut left right into a safety or a backer when the clear path was to the right. Does this WAY TOO MUCH. Not sure if it's his intelligence but maybe there was a reason why UNC never played him - they saw something they didn't like. It's not like UNC is the USC of the East. Rather see Moore, Mendy, Redman and Summers get the PT. If Willie could catch, he might have some real value. He is keyed on for running only.
