khalif barnes, a raider?
Khalif Barnes - T - Jaguars
Report: Raiders to sign OT Khalif Barnes
He drew no interest elsewhere after the Saints re-signed Jon Stinchcomb. Barnes, 27, figures to get a better deal than Oakland gave Kwame Harris last year. Harris' "three-year" contract basically voided after one season. March 6 - 11:56 a.m. ET

Re: khalif barnes, a raider?
Some talk before FA period the Steelers might be interested in Barnes, but with his DUI arrest and his odd behavior during that arrest I found it difficult to believe Steelers would show an interest. Now that Starks is franchised, I look for Colbert to try to sign him long term. I'm no capologist, but if Colbert can extend Starks and lower his cap hit for this season...that would free up some space to re-sign McFadden who is strangely still on the market and maybe could be signed as what would have to be a bargain price to fit the Steelers off-season goals of extending Starks and Harrison.

Here's an idea for Barnes.........
Sign him as the starting left GUARD and as the back-up LT / RT.
Offer him the same contract that Kemo got.
The Steelers obviously are in real need of a good back-up LT / RT and Starks got like $7 million to be a back-up last year.
He'd be a better left guard than Kemo and I think coach Tomlin could get him motivated to play hard and stay out of trouble.
