The SB XLIII Story No One is Talking About

Postby Cras108er » Wed Feb 11, 2009 3:34 am

Prior to the SB, all the talking heads were making a big deal about Whisenhunt and Grimm knowing the Steeler player's tendencies (especially Big Ben) and also having inside information on Dick Lebeau's sytems - having practiced against it every day for a number of years.

Granted, I have not read every story about the SB, but in the ones I have read, I have not seen anoyone mention this story line ever since. In fact, when you think about it, its pretty amazing what the Steelers were able to do against the Cards on both sides of the ball, considering Whisenhunt and Grimm's history. They made their inside information a total non-issue, and LeBau made Whisenhunt look like a fool - especially on the interception return.

"Bad refing" aside, the Cards quite simply got outcoached and outplayed. All of this inspite of Warner having one of the best games of any SB QB (win or lose) and his having one of the greatest offensive weapons in the game.

Just a thought

I agree that at this moment, the'' Whiz and Grimm knowing Lebeau'' argument that was shoved down our throats, pre- Super Bowl is a non issue only because we won.

If we had lost then the media would have pointed to that same argument as the main reason why we lost. You can be certain of that.

Lebeau knows Whiz just as well, it comes down to what team executes most consistently.
