Where is the Dick LeBeau Fan club today ??

Postby StillMill » Mon Feb 02, 2009 9:34 pm

I've not heard a peep from Dick's loyalists.....

Where are they ? Shouldn't they be out, trumpeting Dick's virtues ?? Shouldn't they be preening, and crowing, about how great Dick is and about his vaunted #1 defense ?? Shouldn't they be bandying about all the stats garnered in the big defensive shutdowns of Tashard Choice, Matt Shaub, Cedric Benson, and Derrick Anderson ?

Please......anyone know the whereabouts of Dick's Fan Club ??

He wet the bed on Sunday -- I'm firmly in his fan club for what he accomplished all season.

LeBeau make one bad call all day, the coverage allowing the quick score. In retrospect, this was a good thing, as it left us time to score. He had held the most prolific receiver in single postseason to one catch until the 4th quarter. Give the Cardinals some credit, they found a way to combat what we were doing to them. I'm certainly in LeBeau's fan club.

Uh, I hate to burst your bubble, but it wasn't ONE bad call. It was more than that. And it was shitting the bed in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl, where greatness -- and abject mediocrity -- are defined.

The thing is, who's better? No matter how you shake it, they had the best d in the league by far. What is perfection?

Don't you think that Lebeau had something to do with Harrison lining up like he was going to blitz then dropping back into coverage? You think Harrison was improvising?

You guys go nuts with Arians.. imagine being a Cardinals fan. Why the hell didn't they throw to Fitz earlier? Why didn't they throw downfield? Why didn't they go to a no huddle earlier? Etc etc...

The bashing of Arians is understandable, but I don't get why Lebeau is bashed so much by you Mill. Alot of big plays yesterday by Arizona were a result of missed tackles ( at least 3 by Troy ), horrible defense (Ike Taylor and Larry Foote trying to defend fade routes, all they had to do was turn and look for the ball and it would have resulted in an imcomplete pass or interception). Lebeau doesn't play defense, he coaches it. So, please tell us who you would like to bring in to be our new defensive coordinator. Perhaps you would like to hire a defensive guy from one of the 20 teams that didn't make the playoffs. How bout Clancy Pendergrass, his defense was stout in the sup bowl. The bashing of Lebeau is ridiculous.

Pretty weak, lame representation by The Dick Fan Club. Is this all The Dick's can offer?

Where are all of Dick's loyalists? Shouldn't they be out, trumpeting Dick's virtues ?? Shouldn't they be preening, and crowing, about how great Dick is and about his vaunted #1 defense ?? I hear some bullshit rationalizations and excuse making, but I don't hear all the preening and crowing that we heard all season long. Yeah, sure, Dick gagged and gave up a 13-point 4th quarter lead and nearly choked away a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

Gee, I'm taken aback. What's going on? Where is the trumpeting? Where are Dick's legions of fans?

I guess I'm a fan of LeBeau in the sense that I don't think he needs to be replaced. The Cards have been just about unstoppable the past month and we did get burned by them a bit... just not as much as other teams. Unless Belichick wants to be our DC (kidding!), I say we probably won't find anyone better for next year.

***All coaches make mistakes***.. even in big games....... even Belichick screwed the pooch vs. the Giants by not going 'west coast' until the 4th quarter.... and up until that point he was the 'Gold Standard' for this decade....

If there is a better DC out there that is *proven* to be a total clutch playcaller in the playoffs and the Super Bowl, then let's talk about it and see if we can get him. Otherwise, let's acknowledge that LeBeau made some mistakes, but I think also made some good calls as well.

Mill=Know it all
McLovin hates a Know it all
Is Mill so nieve as to think Tomlin didn't have influence on the defensive game plan and the admittedly poor 4th qtr melt down? When do the players get the blame? Clearly Mill was shunned by LeBeau for an autograph. Get a life dude!

You have to be kidding with this. Even a moron would know that no defense was going to totally shut down that Cardinal offense. The defense did its job...it gave the team 7 points and held that Cardinal offense under 30 points. No other team in the playoffs held the Cardinals under 30. Even if you take the defensive TD away from the Cards against the Eagles (which would then give the Cards 25 points), the Steelers held the Cards to the fewest points in the playoffs.

I'm starting to see a pattern here. Only a cantankerous clown would bitch and complain after a Super Bowl victory during a season in which the team had a moron for an offensive coordinator and one of the worst O-lines ever assembled.

This moron bitched and complain after the Super Bowl XL victory. That is amazing. We have a paradox. We have a Steeler fan who hates his own team.

Do yourself a favor...be grateful and shut the fuck up for once.
The season is now over, such critical analysis is pointless.

Save it for training camp.

And if you decide to ban me for speaking the truth, go to hell.

LeBeau is one of the best defensive coaches in the league. PERIOD.

The Steelers held the #1 offense to 21 points. Yes, they had a horrfic breakdown in the 4th on the Fitz play. However, the Fitz himself said that the play call was perfect for the Defense called. However, if they run a different play aside from Fitz on the in route, the D most likely comes up with a huge play. Remember, the other team gets paid top perform also and shit does happen.

Do you think the Harrison pick was an accident?

If so, please get back on the short bus. Warner had been using the same hot read on the blitz all season. He was baited by Harrsion showing blitz and took the cheese. But, I'm sure you believe that the man calling the defense had nothing to do with that.

We are fortunate LeBeau is our D coordinator!

He is the best in the business...

if you an't beleive the players...and the stats...and the Super Bowl Championship...with a Defensive game changing play...then you are not a very astute fan of the Steelers!

If it wasn't for Dick Steelers could have had a defense consistently rated in the top 5 and a couple of Super Bowls.Oh wait they do.
Ridiculous post and I am hoping Mill is messing with us

Obviously, Mill is already starting to sweat and shake, preparing to head into a cold turkey withdrawal from Steeler football and his rants. One last opportunity to fire up his minions for one last hurrah. I don't believe he thinks LeBeau sucks at all. Not buying it. That would make him every bit the fool as .......Arians?!?!? Indeed. Sad. Real Sad.

Well, Hines didn't get the MVP, but we should still make him president! :sufootballhelmet:

They're all at the parade today celebrating the Superbowl championship that wouldn't have been possible without his defense.

Uh, you're talking about the defense that got SHREDDED in the 4th quarter and CHOKED AWAY a 13-point LEAD, which would have been THE biggest choke job in Sup Bowl history in terms of the size lead coughed up ??

"The championship would not have been possible" without the heroics of Ben and Tonio. Period. Dick actually PREVENTED the title from being won.....and Ben/Tonio bailed his ass out.

Next ?? Any other rationalizations from The Dick's ?
