Nate said players slow to warm to Tomlin

Postby McLovin » Tue Jan 20, 2009 1:24 pm

McLovin a Cowher loyalist found it interesting but not surprising article in PG about Nate Wash and the rest of the team having to adjust to Tomlins style of discipline when he first arrived as coach. He said players cursed his hands on style and they relished Cowher seeking player input. Wash says Tomlin now has respect of the team...funny how a trip to the Super Bowl can do that.

There were also several comments made by Ward over the last few years, and one by Parker, that indicated they were some what resistant of MT and his ways. I'm glad the are over it.

On a similar note, I heard Pete Prisco kind of dropping hints that he has "heard things" about MT indicating that he was an asshole. Then he gave example of exchanges with he and MT that were supposed to make MT to be an ass, but in my opinion, it sounded like a writer being too sensitive when a coach felt he was above his pay scale, which he is.

McLovin will have to read up on that. CBS decent site can't stand ESPN and their gay "Insider" crap. Anyway, McLovin exited his beloved Pittsburgh for the shitty melting pot that is Atlanta 7 long years ago. Pro Sports not relished here nearly the way it is in Pittsburgh but their is guy from Philly down here named John Kincaid...he does some ESPN radio too. He said that Whiz was not well liked by some players and members of the Falcons organization during his stay in Atlanta saying he was arrogant type etc. It just shows that a lot of these coaches reach the heights they do because of their tough personalities.
