Sweed: F-
hahaha yes. those were my words when he dropped that pass. F---!
but he did get 3 of those points back by breaking up an interception and picked up nice third down grab... so how about an F+? hah.

That plus the bone crushing hit on Ivy has to get him to a D-.
Just glad the drop did not cost us the game. The offense left atleat 11pts on the field which is not good.

Yeah, I think the jarring hit on Ivy gets him up to a D-
I am not sure I would give parker a B...i know running is tough in there...but he was too tentative at times...i guess knowing they put your teammate out for the season (Mendenhall) will do that too you...i think Parker is a C+
It's funny, I am trying to grade my students papers right now...it is much easier for me to assign grades to the Stillers...
GO Stillers!

Am I dreaming or did Sweed deliver his hard hit/block AFTER his supposed wrist injury?

I agree with Parker... against Sd, he took one or two steps and hit the hole... vs. Balt., I guess he was more tentative as there were fewer or no holes, but you are not going to dance for yards vs. the Ravens, so just hit whatever is there and take your 2-3 yards if you can.

Hard hats to Big Ben and Troy Polamalu, with Woodley and Ryan Clark in contention. Big Ben carried the offense without Hines Ward for much of the game. Kudos to Santonio Holmes for stepping up on the TD and the punt return - but no hard hat for #10.
Mill, here are some things to think about in your evaluations:
1. What has happened to Harrison? I am not being critical; he just isn't making big plays in the playoffs. Is that because he's double-teamed (and often held)? Does it even matter when Woodley is filling the void, especially on the pass rush?
2. It will be easy to disparage FWP. But was he at least a credible threat? And for the Super Bowl, it's imperative that the Steelers do ball control against the Cardinals.
3. Is it too late to sign a new punter?
4. Farrior was weak in pass coverage - I can already hear you pounding out "the winged god of pass coverage" on your keyboard.
5. I am not going to defend Arians, at least not yet, but I think kudos are in order for LeBeau; there's no way the Steelers get homefield advantage for the playoffs and then sail into the Super Bowl without phenomenal defensive play - give credit where it's due.
6. How do you stop Larry Fitzgerald?

Farrior was pathetic on the one long catch to Heap...he must have been five yards or more behind him as heap blew past farrier and headed upfield...it was the worst coverage on a TE I have seen...Farrior was in one some good tackles...but foot and him do need to cover the middle of the field better...the need to stay in their lanes when the plays break down...luckily that is not when Warner is at his best...
If Woodley can tie up two and Woodley can get the push he got against the ratbirds...and the rest of the D line is stout...i think we can keep the cards off the field...their will be exciting matchups all over the field...i hope clark is alright and good to go...we will need him and carter at times!

I agree we need Clark to be healthy for the SB. Plus for the LB's to put a lot of pressure on Warner.
I looked at the stats from the Arizona game last night. Philly had 464 yds of total offense. That is a ton. Plus McNabb had receivers open on the final drive and missed them. I think the offense scores in the neighborhood of the 35 we got against SD than the 16 against the Ratbirds. OUr D has also been the best all year in the NFL at keeping 20+ and 40+ yd plays to a minimum. That will be huge against Arizona.
Arizona has lived off of the turnovers. They would have lost to Atlanta without a lucky bounce fumble returned for a TD. Plus the game turned in by Dehlomme needs no explanation. Both Philly and Carolina got 5yds per carry against the Cardinals.
The Steelers don't have a back like Westbrook. However, we have a better overall offense. If Arians calls a decent game ("what are the chances?") we can get 400-500 yds against them and a lot of it on the ground.

i think the tough outing against BAL will have parker hungry for the yards he was getting against CLE and SD. unless ARI plays out of their mind, i see parker having a big game.
Re: New Article: Stillers-PoeBirds Postgame......will be publish
C- for Lebeau? Mill were you high during the game? McLovin can't wait to read your logic on this one. Did Dick go Kevin Greene on you for asking for his autograph or something? Why are you so "off" on your grading of him? The Ratbirds did NOTHING on offense. Their scores came due to field position afforded them by Steelers offense and special teams. Mill you can personally thank Troy and Dick for the Steelers appearance in Super Bowl XLIII and will thank them both again when they stop Fitzgerald and any number of trick plays Whis is sure to throw their way.

CBS DID show Ward's reaction to Sweed dropping the ball and it was quite the what the F**K kind of a look. McLovin's rhetoric can't do it justice. As for Sweed, he has no self confidence and is a flat out panzy. The CBS replay told McLovin all he needed to know about him as his eyes were looking at the jumbo tron and not the ball. Terrible!!! McLovin respected Colbert for not reaching for lineman in last years draft and sticking to his board adding depth to skill positions with Mendy and Sweed. But things couldn'tve turned out worse with those two in the rookie years. Maybe Sweed does have some lingering effects from his wrist surgery and its a given that Mendy never took a hit from a player like Ray Lewis in the pussy Big Ten. Let's just hope they can shake off their horrific rookie years and make a significant contribution toward defending the Super Bowl title.

i meant hines' reaction to sweed's ward-like hit
Re: New Article: Stillers-PoeBirds Postgame......will be publish
The ST grade should be divided between Reed (A-) and Berger (F). Berger effectively is responsible for both Baltimore TDs (line drive punt to middle of the field and whiff).
I think Ben was at least a B+, not his fault on overturned Holmes TD, Sweed drop, Willie drop and Arians crap 2H playcalling.

the O.C. got an F? didnt the steeler offense put up more points than the ravens in the AFC Championship game and move on to the superbowl? what kind of dreamworld is this place?
I disagree with arians running up the gut of willie a bunch of times but to give him an F for winning the game?
that is sheer insanity. ludicrus. hyperbolic ranting . bombastic pontifications in a delusional state.
i.e. WRONG.

Lots of good points here.. Tourofan, I agree about Harrison, Lebeau.. and Fitzgerald. No one has addressed that.
