I'm really pleased with the play of Santonio.
I had been really down on him and thought he was a bust. But he's turned things around and in my opinion he's becoming a star receiver. It's like someone threw a switch or something and he suddenly realized what he was capable of.

I do give him some props too for stepping it up, but still not where I expected a #1 to be after 3 years..
WHY was the TD not a catch or TD? Why I ask? that was a catch and ground knocking it loose!

Looked like a catch to me but but, of course, the NFL treats every situation different with their ridiculously complex rules.
Between the absurd rules and the inept refs, it really is getting hard to feel good about todays NFL a lot of the time.
Even games I have no rooting interest in, I watch the calls and just shake my head.

It was a Great catch by Santonio...he was robbed just like Polamalu was a few weeks back...you move on...but he should be recognized for that catch...and hi run after the catch was a thing of beauty..solid game for him...we need him to be there in the SB.

CokeOven;
I agree. I posted part of this on one of the other threads. However, Tonio is a hair away from him being talked about like Fitzgerald heading into the Super Bowl. Now I am not saying that Tonio is the beast that Fitz is and probably will never be. However, think about these four plays and if all were made what would his stat line look like after 2 playoff games.
1. Early in SD game Ben over threw Tonio on a deep slant. He was open and probably would have scored on the play.
2. Later in SD game Ben thew a deep post to Tonio. Great play by both but just off of his finger tips. This one was about 1/2 step from being a TD.
3. Play yesterday at the goal line. Was the right call per the rule as you have to maintain posession through the ground. (Although, I as most struggle with that rule and the one about a footbal move).
4. Play where Tonio got mugged after #3 above in the endzone and no interferrence was call.
Tonio could have three more TD's and another play that would have set us up with 1st and goal at the 1. Then he would have 5 TD's in two games and about 300 receiving yards.
I think he is going to have a huge Super Bowl.

I am too. After a season of being constantly pissed off at him, he has come thru in the post season. Now, that son of a bitch Sweed is another story. He dropped the game winner. Turned out we didn't need it, but still. That pass could not have been thrown better.
Re: I'm really pleased with the play of Santonio.
Holmes finally stepped up yesterday and appeared to relish the spotlight and wanted the ball. He is money after the catch. Heath still not getting the ball enough. Now pray Hines comes back healthy because McLovin holds his breath every time the ball is thrown to Nate and as the nation saw close up yesterday...Limas Sweed flat out sucks. The replays of him taking his eyes off the ball were very telling that this guy just doesn't have it. He has zero confidence. He plays scared and this crap about him overthinking is just facist bullshit! Ben's big receiver is a big BUST!
