Initiation Requirements?
My friend of 18 years, and die hard Raiderrs fan [from ohio] called me last night and asked what type of application he needed to submit for the stiller nation to accept him as a new member. He admitted he is done with the raiders, and can no longer take it, and after much searching, has come to the realization that he wants to get on board with the black and gold. [He really only liked the raiders because of the snake, and the thrill is now gone.]
I told him I would have to get back to him.
Suggestions as to pledging, hazing or other requirements would be appreciated. Do we even want him, or should I reject his application.

Re: Initiation Requirements?
Any Initiation into Steeers Fandom must include a lot of Iron City.
Re: Initiation Requirements?
i say reject the application all the way! hes the true example of a frontrunner who only backs his team in fair weather, and i don't like to see that out of any steelers fans

There's nothing like a bittersweet feeling of taking ones fan and bringing him over to the Black and Gold side, esp. one of the Raiders (very weird.) But, I have to agree with El Nino, I can NOT tolerate a fan that is only on board because of a fair weather sportsman regardless of the team, and would hate to welcome one only to see him back door us and leave if ever given the chance. I'll take my chances with the diehards we got and go after any fakes head on. That's just me, but it will be easy to sniff out any fakes, and your friend seems to be one. I'd rather him come here promoting his Raiders shit than to try to jump the shark, and join us. Plus, it would be fun to beat 'em down.
Your call your friend, but if somehow he sneaks in... he'll have to survive first, and that may take awhile.

What about a Tatoo?
It'd be difficult form him to jump ship then.

Re: Initiation Requirements?
He said he was only a Raiders fan because of The Snake, and he's stuck with them for another 3 decades or so, after the Snake was traded. And there were some lean times there, as well as a few great seasons.
Are we saying that anybody who has ever had a favorite team other than the Stillers is banned for life from the Stiller Nation?

Go to myspace.com and search "steeler nation" under the video category. make him watch the steeler nation video and quiz him on what he thinks being a steelers fan is about.

Sorry man, if I'm with the Pirates 'til death, he's stay with the Raiders. Unlike the Red Sox, we don't need a bunch of bandwagoners to pump up our fan base.
HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO!!!

If you think about, as opposed to feel about it, any other kind of fan is just plain stupid. Nobody should remain loyal to any organization that isn't dedicated to producing the best possible product.
Re: Initiation Requirements?
I guess we can take him in as a Tier 3 fan.
Tier 1 -- born and raised in Pittsburgh. Stiller fan by birthright and lineage.
Tier 2 -- loyal fan of the Stillers ever since you can remember, regardless of place of birth
Tier 3 -- your bud and those like him

For him to be accepted he needs to be knowledgeable about the historic history of the Black N Gold. He needs to name at least our last 5 qbs including garbage ass KENT GRAHM= EWWW gross haha
But, front runners suck, I hate any fan that isn't diehard that just cheers to cheer, but doesn't bleed black and gold as I do. To me the Stillers are more than just a football team or just another football game each week, they are family. Stiller Nation is fam. but I do hate BRUCE AND THAT WON'T change until he is out of the door.
I love the Steelers when they are great and I love them when they aren't. I lived in New England for 5 years and I never miss a game, I go to a Steeler club up in Ct.
GO STEELERS
Dynasty in the making..........
We have the pieces to the puzzle.

it is "TATTOO"
Re: Initiation Requirements?
Has he ever lived in Pittsburgh? I lived in Bloomfield, Lawrenceville and Point Breeze and it rubbed off on me while I was there.
I find it hard to like teams from places I never lived.
