Arians
I know Arians is not the most popular guy around here, but bear in mind a few things. The very best coordinators don't stay coordinators for long, and there is a lot of value to not switching offensive coordinators every couple of years. Also, entering this season, everyone expected the O-line to be a major weakness that would limit the offense. And that was before we lost our starting left tackle and right guard, the only two guys on the line who had started for us for more than the past year. Throw in the loss of our 1st round pick running back, the injuries to Parker, and the strong schedule we faced this year, and it becomes clear that the performance of the offense this season could have been a lot worse. That said, there are aspects of the offense that Arians clearly needs to work on, most visibly the inability of the team to execute a basic screen pass. Of course, this may be a Ben issue, as he seems to frequently throw these types of passes right at the defenders.

Re: Arians
I hate that you're right but you're right.
Arians was the OC when Ben had 30+ TDs last year and we (excuse me, "The Pittsburgh Steelers football team, not me or you or we at all") won the division.
A lot of teams would love to be griping about that problem. When you look play by play, drive by drive, game by game, Arians' offense looks questionable - 3rd and 6 and you run the slowest man in Pittsburgh to get the 1st?
When you look season by season, we're winning the division year after year. I know the defense is a HUGE factor in that, but season to season the Steelers look better than the vast majority of NFL teams.
Arians is still a putz, anyone who knows football knows that, and I hope we can find someone better in the offseason. The only question is on which Monday that offseason begins.

Re: Arians
The team has improved by 2 wins each season that Tomlin has been coach. At this pace, they'll go undefeated in two more years. Before anyone jumps on my case about that, it was a joke. An ill-timed, poorly paced joke, but nonetheless.
The team is improving. The defense is improving, at least. Finally a coach who was hired for his pedigree and improved that aspect of the team. Too often guys are hired due to their specialty and end up just looking the fool. However, Tomlin is a defensive guy and the defense has been flat out awesome. The special teams have even improved (though that can partly be blamed on piss poor punting that simply doesn't allow for returns) and they're not beating themselves in that aspect of the game.
The only aspect of the team that seems to be taking steps backwards is the offense. There are so many theories (Ben, Arians, O-line, Willie) but I don't think that anyone actually knows the extent to which all of these factors play into the woes of the offense. Certainly, they all do to some extent, but how much of each shit goes into the ultimate shit stew that they've got brewing out there?

Re: Arians
Arians is Arians.
I'm not a fan, but you make a good point.
My answer to your point is that the buck stops with Tomlin.
If Arians & the offense is an issue then Tomlin should get more involved and fix the problems.

Don't get me wrong.
I'm not exonerating Arians of his idiocy. I also agree that the buck stops with Tomlin and I'm hoping that they don't decide to rest on their laurels and try to hide the poor showing of the offense behind the out of their heads performance by the defense.
The first step to solving your problem is admitting that you have a problem.

10/4, REPEAT, take Arians Out, Shoot on first site. haha Just a joke.
Anyways, I do feel Arians will be better in this playoff run to super bowl number 6, or shall I say one and done?
Who really knows about the 2008-2009 Pittsburgh Steelers. We are 12-4 with the best schedule ever, We literally should be 14-2, possible 15-1. We did suck the Titan game away, but I will give them that. 14-2, I'll take 12-4 going into this "new season"
ALL WE CAN DO IS "KEEP FAITH" and watch our Black and Gold give it their all.
GO STEELERS!!!!!!!
