Shoot the Punter

Postby punum123 » Mon Dec 15, 2008 10:09 am

If anyone agrees, please feel free to contribute to this thread.

Really folks, how hard is it to kick a fucking ball? Our present solution IS NOT WORKING!

Are there any decent punters available?

It's like Tomlin looks at his punter as an afterthought...and that seems silly considering the Stillers spent a draft pick to get Sepulveda...Mitch Berger? That's the best we can come up with?

Field position matters, especially in the playoffs and in bad weather. The Colts, Titans, Denver, Jets, hell most teams probably would have gotten a few more points than the Ratbirds offense with a rookie QB. That could very well come back to haunt us in the playoffs and the Steelers treat it as an afterthought. The offensive struggles early aren't helping all that much either in that regard. There has to be someone available to do a better job.

This was not a bad game for Berger. 42yd average.

The average was ok. However, even if you take away the 46yd return early. They still averaged about 10yds per return. We missed a few tackles but the punts did not have a lot of hang time.

Berger was not the best available when he was signed. However, I can not see them making a change this late unless he gets hurt again.

We over look the Sepulveda injury a lot but it does affect the team.
