Goal line stuffs

Postby toomuchmerrilhoge » Wed Dec 10, 2008 8:56 pm

If I have to watch one more 4th and goal where we run up the middle and get stuffed I'm gonna slow-roast Arians' nuts in my toaster oven. It's clear to me that this offense cannot muscle it's way into the end zone as in years past. Time to get a little more creative at the goal line. Maybe Ben could do a bootleg (like he used to when he was a freakin' rookie!), play action a QB option, anything but the embarrassment of watching our RBs run into a brick wall at the goal line will do!

I would put Dixon in at anything and goal from the 1-2 yard line. Defenses would not know what to plan for, bootleg, run, pass, some type of gadget.

Of course Arians would rather have Dixon chatting with Kevin Greene on the sideline entire season

Indeed, it would nice to bring back some semblance of Wiz's gadgetry, or ANY kind of creative thinking to throw off the defense.

right

roll Ben out to the right, or as Mill would say, use the 'pop pass' to 86 or 83

How about another play where the TE comes in motion and slows down between the guard and tackle to telegraph where the play will go. Another Arians staple that usually gets stuffed.

Not sure you activate Dixon for a game for one gadget play but hey it may be worth a try. Even a tackle eligible.
