Win vs. Ravens Clinches Bye

Postby Steel Keeper » Wed Dec 10, 2008 7:31 pm

I have seen mentions that a win on Sunday would clinch the division but haven't seen anything about it clinching a bye.

If the Steelers win and lose their last two games they will go 11-5 with a 9-3 conference record (the first tie-breaker after Head-to-Head to decide seeding)

Ravens will have 5 losses and lose on head-to-head

Pats have 5 losses and lose on head-to-head

Broncos, Dolphins, and Jets all have 5 losses but they all have more than 3 conference losses.

All other teams in the AFC North, East, and West have more than 5 losses, therefore cannot overtake the Steelers if they win Sunday.

So worst case scenario is the #2 seed at 11-5

Edit: Sorry if this has been posted before

if, if, if

if we don't generate some consistency on offense, it will be a long day for us and BEN.

if Berger has to punt more than 4 times, you can FORGET ABOUT IT

Huh, I was saying IF the Steelers win then they clinch a bye. The other ifs were showing worst case scenario to prove we would get the bye. It is relevant information. Don't be that guy

First-things-first, let's take care of the Shitbirds and let everyone else figure out the playoff picture.

Christ, we're not on the team. We can talk about it. Our focus doesn't matter at all.

Um...if we take care of the Ratbirds, the playoff picture takes care of itself.

We take care of the ratbirds, we are no worse than #2.

There are those that would argue that we, as the twelfth man, have a duty to remain focused, as well. The team needs our support every down, every snap, every game, and if we drift off into futuristic fantasies, maybe we do them a disservice, as they need our support in order to remain focused themselves. That having been said, you have a good point, and it needs to be said.

We are all part of the team. I dress for the game and have my pre-game rituals just as many other fans have. I am convinced that without me watching and yelling :supissed: and doing all the little things that I do that the Steelers' chances of winning go way down. And...just in case anyone hasn't figured it out yet, we still aren't in the playoffs...we can still be eliminated. :sushootem: So, we focus on the Roadkill Cleanup Crew this weekend and kick their asses back to 1992 :sucrutches: and then we can talk about playoffs. :sucope: Until then, I only can see as far a Sunday. Go Steelers! :subngtowl:
