League's worst offense worth watching?
So, the Steelers (by conventional methods) are now the 26th rated offense in the league, making us the worst offense in the league where the QB hasn't been benched, lost for the season or habitually injured:
26th -- Stillers
27th -- Rams
28th -- Browns
29th -- Seahawks
30th -- Lions
31st -- Raiders
32nd -- Bengals
We've stunk to disgusting proportions. If any of the six teams below us ever were on TV I wouldn't watch....

Re: League's worst offense worth watching?
This is just SICK! We have the #1 rated D in several categories and just about the worst O in the league! Is ANYONE in the Steeler FO paying attention???? This CAN'T be allowed to continue after this year. AIRHEAD MUST GO!!!!!
Re: League's worst offense worth watching?
what's even more sickening is the talent we have at skill positions. Between Ben, Heath, Hines, Santonio, and even Nate and FWP and MW, we should AT LEAST be in the top ten or fifteen offensively...which would make us undefeated right now, by the way.

IMO the Redskins have the worst offense in the league. Have you ever seen them play other than our game? Absolutely horrible.
Re: League's worst offense worth watching?
I've seen the Redskins play a few games. For huge stretches of the season they were running the ball effectively, but now they've managed to run Portis into the ground. They rank 17th in yards per game.
The Stillers seem to be regressing whereas inferior offensive talent (Chiefs, Dolphins) have actually improved all season to be half decent.

Re: League's worst offense worth watching?
I know we haven't been great, but couldn't this be directly linked to having the best D in the land?
We don't have to score a bunch, there is no urgency until the clock is down to nothing in the 4 quarter. Our coaches just believe the D will do enough to help our O pull it out in the end?
Look at last year, our D wasn't as good and we had to score a bunch to stay in or come back to win games, ala the Broncos, Cleveland #2, Jacksonville (both games), ect. Ala Ben's 32 passing TD's compared to this years dinky number (14)!
That might be why we scored 393 points in 16 games compared to 289 in 13 games so far? And I don't think we will make up 104 points in 3 games. Like it maters anyway, we finished 17 in the league last year just behind NYG, and we all know what they went on to do.
And I don't want to hear about the sacks, Ben took 47 last year and has 38 so far this year, so they are comparable.

Agree on the Skins offense -- right before our game with them, I opined on this board that Campbell is a fraud, and that the only reason he had no INTs to that point was because of all of his 3 and 7 yard throws. Campbell cannot throw downfield at all, and is too dumb to go through his progressions and make good decisions in the Zorn offense.
Sorry, I know this is a Stiller board, but had to air this out since I've been living in DC for a couple years now.

Leo, what's the word on Colt Brennan?
As for me, I'd much rather watch good D than good O any day. I'm from Penna. and that just the way it is up 'ere.

Re: League's worst offense worth watching?
First my disclaimer here: I would love to see Arians get the boot after the season and get an OC that better utilized the strenghts and personnel that we have today. Not the personnel we had in 2005.
If our offense could score 24pts a game our D would be that much better as we would make teams 1-dimensional by the 3rd qtr. Then Harrison would probably break Strahans sack record.
Since we can not. This year we are 20th in pts scored (only 6pts per game behind Arizona), 26th in yards, but still 7th in time of possession. In so many ways we are a dropped pass here, missed block there, penalty over here from clicking on offense.
Some of our issues may be due to the defense being dominating. We lost the Indy game due to offensive turnovers and possibly the Giants game to a freak injury to a long snapper. Injuries play a role as well. Ben may only now be getting close to 85%, Parker has been slowed all year, Mendenhall on IR, Davis has missed games. We have had several O-line injuries. (Think about it, take Len Dale white and Chris Johnson away from tennesee and would they be 10-3?, Give Petyon a dislocated shoulder and would Indy have won 6 weeks in a row?)
Not sure exactly what I am saying here but we are 10-3 with the offensive issues we have (this rocks). With a minor improvement which I think will happen we are easily the team to beat in the AFC. Also, I think on both sides of the ball we are showing a toughness we did not have last year.
We would have been the team to beat all along with another OC but shit happens.
Have a good one Burgh fans.

Re: League's worst offense worth watching?
two cents: half of the Steelers wins have been routs.
Stillers have only been out of one game, Philly.
if the offense was simply middle of the back, dare i say 'good', this board would be lamenting contemplating a possible they-outta-drop-dead SB loss.
whatayawant?

Re: League's worst offense worth watching?
The # 2 and #3 defenses are coming up. The offense can help the D dominate the stat sheet by putting up some yards and points on those #2 and #3 defenses. If I'm not mistaken, we lead Baltimore on D by about 150 yards total. So if the RAvens can outgain the Stillers by more than 150 yards this weekend, they take over the #1 spot on defense. If the stillers actually outgain the ravens, they widen the margin they have in total yards given up. Same with Tenn next week.
I know, Coach Tomlin walks by 5 Lombardi trophies every morning, not 5 defensive yardage titles.

Re: League's worst offense worth watching?
Fact of the matter is, if we can outgain the Ratbirds, it means our O has done it's job. If that's the case, we can wrap up the division, the bye week, and the #1 D all in one. Nothing wrong with wanting it all.
