Those are some ridiculous choices.

Ben was garbage.

Heath was damn near invisible (though it looked like he injured his arm)

You don't get the frickin game ball thanks to one play, ESPECIALLY a gift.

Washington is a nice little honorable mention, because he was the only receiver worth anything today, and turned out to be quite the spark.

But it's obviously the defense. They did everything and a half.

At least 20 teams in the league today would have blown out the cowgirls with that many frickin turnovers.

the entire defense

santonio or nate would be the only ones of mention for the offense. santonio's bomb awakened the crowd and had a solid PR. nate of course had 3 huge grabs on the touchdown drive

I voted for the defense, but would have voted for Santonio. His long punt return was a huge play in the game

ILLSTEEL YOU ARE A MORON.

big ben was fine. no interceptions and his wrs dropped almost TEN PASSES IN THE FIRST HALF ALONE.

that is horrific.

ben was great.

our wrs sucked.

willie parker was horrifying.

bench willie and start mewelde.

I'm all for starting moore. He's having the better season and our offense is just better with him in the game.

not only does he contribute as a receiver out of the backfield, but he's a good pass blocker. We could definitely use that with our o-line not necessarily being the best. there was a play that ben was under pressure and willie was out on a route not even looking for the ball. moore wouldn't have made that mistake. the biggest difference between the two backs is vision. moore seems to be quick to pick the weak spots in the d-line and attack it. parker seems to rush blindly where he's assigned to run. unless the blocking is perfect on the play, parker is usually dropped for a short gain or loss. moore is more consistent with picking up the 5 yard gains, and even has more big plays (rushes over 20+ yards) despite having less carries. If we count total yards from scrimmage, he's got willie beat by over 200 yards. Not bad for the guy having half the starts willie has

I was a little confused when for a series we had mewelde in the game and he played well. As soon as we get in the red zone, they put willie back in and the drive stuttered.

ouch. dude, lay off

Ok, maybe he wasn't garbage, but we can blame wr's drops for the past at least 4 games all we want. There's other factors than that. Yes, the run game is shockingly bad, but need I remind you what our run game did for us in the '05 sb run? That run was all thanks to Ben, and his QUICK and HOT READ passes, not run around like a headless chicken and throw it deep bullshit.

I will give him credit though, part of the reason for this slumping MIGHT be Arians, but then again, both Batch in his last two games and Leftwich in his last 2 games (Which, fyi, spans 2 YEARS) threw quick passes and got the ball OFF.

Also, it's a lot easier to catch 5-10 yard passes, than it is to catch 15-godknowshowfar passes.

I guarantee you, if Ben would get the god damn ball off faster, you'd see this STAGGERING amount of wr drops go WAY down, and you'd also see a half-way mediocre offense to boot.

Yes Ben made some plays, but for gods sake throw the ball!! It's like he is waiting for the reciever to break open with 5 yards of seperation before he will throw it, except for a deep pass which he wants to throw every passing down!
There was one play where Ben took a sack and got up complaining about somebody hitting Ward or something, he wouldn't throw it, he sat there patty caking the ball. You would of thougt, OK there must of been nobody open, but the replay kept showing H. Miller cutting across the middle with his defender a half step to his right (Ben's left), he had that little seperation needed. THROW THE BALL, put it where your playmakers can make plays! It's like Ben is so psyched out it has to be perfect to throw it??
I don't know what is wrong with him, but half my family watched this game with me (they know nothing of football) and thought there looked like something was wrong with him? I hope he can pull it together!

I voted for D, all they gave up was one flukey TD, but that sometimes happens when you bend, you sometimes get broken. I don't mind giving up FG's all day, that happens and we win 99% of the time. (1% = Igles game  )

Travis Kirshke, Casey Hampton, Aaron Smith, James Harrison, Larry Foote, Lawrence Timmons, Larry Foote, James Farrior, Lamar Woodley, William Gay, Bryant McFadden, Ike Taylor, Ryan Clark, Tyrone Carter and TROY POLAMALU.

.. THAT IS THE GAMEBALL! FUCKING DEFENSE!!!!! It's such a joy to watch this group. Brings a tear to my eye. So unbelievably enjoyable to watch, esp 43, 92, 56..christ.. all of 'em! wow. There's not many words to explain those guys on the defensive side of the ball. ALL OF THEM GET THE GAMEBALL.

Offensively, putrid. 4 turnovers in the first half and have only 3 points to show? We had good drives, but the story of the season for this offense is not accumulating any points. Dallas was fucking horrible, and we actually got a better effort from Cinci's O than we did the fraudboys.

Steelers VS Steelers was the reason why Dallas led late in the game. We were simply under-executing our own plays, period.

Moore is a complete freak and even though I LOVE Willie, he needs to start, with Willie coming in sub-packages, as of now.

Also, what's with Hines dropping the big play?

Chalk me up for the "Start Mewelde Moore" bandwagon.

I too love me some Willie Parker, but only because of his homerun ability. And even that doesn't... really... happen. Willie has speed. Moore has everything BUT speed... And he's not slow himself.

Ben wasn't exactly accurate on some of the drops... Passes high and behind intended targets. Hines anyone? But I don't understand people scrutinizing his play. Compare his play to Romo's. If history really does indicate anything, those stats should have been flip-flopped. But alas... They weren't. Ben did NOT have a great game. He didn't have a TERRIBLE game either. Get off his nuts.

That aside...

My vote went to Deshea because... Well... Old man took it to tha hoooouse!

The defense as a whole deserved the vote. :sucope:

Didn't Town look slow on that run? I know he is getting old, but I thought for sure Witten was going to catch him before he got in! Then we would of been stuck watching an Airhead abortion 3 times from the goal line followed by a Reed chippy. I for one am glad he made it.

hahaha!

I remember at some point shortly after that saying, "Man... He made ME need to catch my breath!"

He's been a very serviceable CB for the Steelers over his career but he has defintely lost a step or two. I am hoping that when he decides to call it quits, he'll stick around as a coach and teach the young'uns comin' in how to make a QB throw away from you... not AT you. (Chad Scott and Brent Alexander anyone?)

Glad your said scenario didn't get a chance to play-out. I mean... That's how Pittsburgh needed to leave the game... With a defensive TD and defensive stand. Momentum against a up-and-coming offensive attack across division waters in Baltimore.

That's a whole'nuther thread.

Here's to football!
