My two Cents

Postby IhateARIANS » Mon Dec 01, 2008 1:40 am

I have no words that describe that game, To many words.... I loved every second of that second half, I lived in New England for 5 years and LET ME TELL YOU, all band wagoners, they have no clue WHAT THE FUCK is actually going on with the game of football. They all listen way to much of ESPN'S non-sense. When I lived up there was when "Boston" was the shit and everyone was on them, but if you say "hey fucktard Who the fuck was your quarterback before Bledsoe?" NO ONE WILL ANSWER IT, they are true fans let me tell you. I was almost as happy when the Giants won the super-bowl last year against the PATS than when we won against the Seacocks. I have nothing good to say with the overall fans perspective of "sports" in New England. Such homers.

I will tell you one thing NEW ENGLAND is PISSED, we physically whooped their ass, they really scored maybe 3 points on our Defense, they couldnt pass block us, nothing was working, dropped balls, and a team that just seemed intimidating throughout the game.

My 2 cents: The Pittsburgh STEELERS ARE A FAST SURFACE TEAM, BULIT ON ACCELERATION, SPEED, AND POWER. ESPECIALLY ON DEFENSE. HEINZ FIELD SLOWS US DOWN, WE ARE FAST AND I FEEL HEINZ DOES AFFECT THE NUMBER OF BIG HITS, BIG PLAYS, BIG 3 and Outs, I just see two different teams on them surfaces especially now later in the year. We seem to create more TURNOVERS on the fast surface than WHEN WE ARE AT HEINZ.

Our offense seems to click better too when we are on synthetic grass.

Great win I loved it, you better believe Billicheat is thinking about us and how he wants revenge. But as I said all year when Brady went down, I'm not worried about them.

GO STEELERS

that game was won on coaching and coaching alone. you owe arians an apology. arians tomlin and lebeau kicked bellicheats ass on offense and defense.

change your name. you lost the right to carry that moniker today. arians beat bellicheat and arians is 9-3.

in his second year .

What game were you watching? Coaching alone ha. I guess the game plan for the O was to suck the first qtr get a little better in 2nd qtr and open up in third qtr. We did nothing on Offense that we haven't done before exept EXECUTE. The game was won in the trenches. The Offensive line played a good solid game as well as the Defensive front 7. They could not stop the run and they minus a few good runs couldn't run consistantly on us. We were defending the pass so a couple runs were going to get through. We were more aggressive on Offense and it paid off. Ben got better as the game went on after a terrible start and that was him beginning to finally mature. If you think Arians could out coach Belidick you need a drug test. We were simply the better team who for once played better than a good team. The players won the game.

IHA,
Interesting perspective. I like to hear about Steelers Fans experiences living in other teams cities.

You thoughs on the field are interesting also. I'm not sure whether I agree or not, but the question that came to my mind was, should an owner put in a specific type of playing surface for a specific teams characteristics when that teams identity may only last a few seasons.

I think this theory about Heinz Mud Field hurting the performance of the defense holds some substance. Our D does seem to play better when they can have decent footing under them. I know both teams have to play on it, but the way our defense is built, a missed tackle here and there because someone slipped or lost his footing has been the reason for some big plays at really bad times.

I owe Arians nothing but a bitch slap. He still loves after ripping a 7 yard gain on first down, going empty backfield. What happened to the Play Action Pass? Obviously, only one thing is going to happen with an empty backfield PASS. Our defense scored all the points as well. I still ahve hatred for Arians. P.S. Last time I checked New England's soft defense gets torched by everyone. They couldn't stop a garbage ass Wildcat formation.

Can you please explain to me what brilliant offensive scheme confused the New England defense and led to that win?

Because I saw an offense that, while it executed better than it has in a while, got great FP all half from the defense and yet kept coming away with FGs instead of TDs.

Only thing I saw that Arians did that could remotely be called "strategy" was go after Deltha O'Neal.

I live in New England, too and have for about 13 years now, so I've seen the ascension of the NE football fan. There are some true fans who can tell you stories about watching the team in old Sullivan stadium, or have a faded old promo tee shirt from Super XX that they'll break out every once in a while for shits and giggles. However, for the most part, you are right. They're a bunch of bandwagon hopping imbeciles who couldn't tell you the first thing about football. Anytime I hear Kraft droning on about the best fans in football (I understand he's an owner and he needs to do that shit, since they pay his bills, but still) I want to punch the first guy I see wearing a Patriots hat. Then again, that guy is usually my father-in-law, so some things are better left alone.

I happened to catch some of EEI on Monday and some caller was bitching about the injuries and how this might be the best coaching job by Belichick ever. However, we were also told that Belichick's best coaching job ever was last year when he told his offensive coordinator to call the long bomb to Moss every other play, so I guess the bar wasn't set very high in that regard.

I think that I might have made this exact same point at some point last year towards the end of the season (as I'm sure many others have, too). This defense is fast, really, really fast. The linebackers are fast, the corners and safeties are fast. The defense just seems to get off on speed. Now that Bettis is gone and FWP is (mostly) the feature back, the offense is predicated more on speed, too. Santonio, Nate, Hines (even though he's lost a step) are fast, too. The Rooneys just need to get rid of that sandbox at Heinz and install some kind of artificial surface. I like that they want to play in the elements, but there is such a thing as cutting off your nose to spite your face, too. The technology exists. Utilize it. Hell, ask the University to toss some cash into the project if that's the primary motivation. Just get it done already.

Great win I loved it, you better believe Billicheat is thinking about us and how he wants revenge. But as I said all year when Brady went down, I'm not worried about them.

GO STEELERS

I had so much fun during this game. I was nervous at 10-10, but after the first fumble, I realized there was nothing to be worried about. Hope not to see 'em again because they're very hard to beat twice in a year. A fun win, though.
