McLovin's bad...you mustve been drunk Sunday because yesterday it was a C-. Dick gets an A+ from McLovin not just for the last game but for the year. Just to keep things in perspective.....
1. Pola was a CAN'T MISS 1st rounder out of SC with all the tools that you could possibly dream of. Dick hasn't done much with Pola that any other DC in the league couldnt have done.
2. James Harrison ? you mean the fellow that Billy Cowhard, and DICK LEBEAU, cut ? Ahh, yes, that guy. that Lebeau...he's a smart guy.
3. LeMarr Woodley was UNBLOCKABLE last year, getting 4 sacks on only 74 plays from scrimmage. But he rotted the bench behind Clark "The Nobody" Haggans. Who was Woodley's coach last yaer? Dickhead LeBeau.

Yet, if I didn't have a life and had more free time, I could easily go back and do the same exact thing for every player on the field, for both teams, for every game this season.
He seems to think that because he shows anecdotal evidence of something, then he MUST be right (screw context, screw the other 40 plays that player was involved in).
Funny, this is the exact same bullshit rationalization that was bandied about for years by the GAA (GilDong Apologists Association). And funny, we here at Stillers.com was correct on the pussyfied, horseshit play by Big Jason. I don't fawn and waste time on PRO players making ROUTINE plays. I isolate on the the good and the bad, and in Farrior's case, the bad has been simply wretched. Farrior has been an over-hyped, over-adulated turd, and it showed again vs. the Ravens. I highly suspect it will be shown again on the big stage in Tampa.
Now, shut the fuk up and run back to the GAA.
You know, I scoured my original post character by character, looking for the wording that would lead you to believe that I thought Farrior was great, or even that he's not overhyped. I didn't find any of that wording. He's absolutely overhyped. He's not All-Pro, he probably shouldn't be in the Pro Bowl, as a starter or alternate. My point was, and bear with me as this may require you to actually read a post in its entirety before responding [not a strength of yours, I understand], is that your analysis is based almost entirely on how much you like the player. Like I said, Farrior's not great, a serviceable starter and leader to be sure, but not great. Yet, you routinely tear him apart apart as if he were the worst player in the league, citing only a few random plays for evidence.
I just want to know why you don't hold all the players to the same standard, that's all. If you used the same scale for every other players on the team, no one would ever grade above a C.

Actually, I do hold all players to a high standard. Bear in mind, HOWEVER, that I expect more from a 4-year veteran making $8M per year, than a rookie undrafted free agent. So, yeah, I expect more from James Farrior than I do from Key Fox or Pat Bailey. I expect more from Limas Peed than I would a WR like a Steve Tasker-like guy that was on the roster primarily to play spec teams. I expect more from Fat Casey Hampton than I do from Chris Hoke or Nick Eason.
as for Farrior, there was no "citing only a few random plays for evidence." I cited the critical plays he was invovled in. He had a FEW, along with a host of poor, shitty ones, like having his face shoved into the dirt by Ray Rice on a 2-yard dumpoff that resulted in a 22 -yard gain on 2nd and fuking 15. Many players got grades above "C" in the AFCC, and some got a C or even worse. They got what they earned and what they deserved.

so you didn't disagree with any of the points he made, just the somewhat arbitrary letter grade given afterward?
the only way every player and coach would get A's is if the entire game went like the 3rd quarter against san diego.

I don't "like" any players. All's I like is winning football and being a fan of the Pgh. Stillers. Grades are EARNED, based on effectiveness and production, and are given out appropriately, commensurate with PRODUCTION and expectation. Period.

right... but it's not like with a test in school, where the teacher can take the number of incorrect answers divided by total number of questions to give a grade. you look at what a player did, and then look at what you expect from him, and then say "that seems to be about a B- in my book" or whatever.
i'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. maybe arbitrary was the wrong word... more like subjective. i just don't think hines' pearly whites should get so upset because of the actual letter you give players/coaches when he didn't necessarily disagree with the points that you raised.

We all love it when our beloved Stillers win but you can not possibly be so glowing on cloud nine not to relealize that this victory was grapped from the teeth of defeat. Without the great interception this may have come down to another last minute drive for Ben with us trailing by one, after a late field goal by the RatBirds. The grade given by Mill are more than fair.
Yes, I think Sweed deserves an F in spite of his block and interception breakup. We pay him to catch the ball as a professional not fall on the ground after missing a pass that hit him in a bad place his hands. My God I thought Dwight Stones was back on the field for us. An as for our shitbag punter, I never saw a guy kick dirt like he was clubbing a three wood out of the rough at the Brtish Open. What was I saying about professional? Do we pay this guy to show up? After getting that out of my system I feel better. Ring number six is within our grasp. Go Steelers

I really don't see why everyone gets so worked up about Still's grades. They are just his opinion and all that really matters is that we won. I did think this might be the game that Berger loses for us to stop our run at # 6.
GO STEELERS....and by the way...I'll be there Feb 1st!!!

i thought this was a site for stiller fans to come and converse. i mean shit we are almost all adults, and although i disagree frequently with mill's opinion of players and coaches most of the time there is no need to sit and start all the namecalling 3rd grade bullshit here. and if you disagree, make the arguments articulate and intelligent, which i know most everyone (trolls aside) here is capable of. fuck people our team is going to the superbowl and a lot that seems to go on here is a bitchfest...lets enjoy the time up until the game and get down to what really matters...figuring out how to stop #11

I agree and I would like to extend an apology to Still Mill for the name calling incident. Been reading this site for some time and for some reason, the LeBeau comment just got under my skin. Oh well...Sorry about that. Let's get back to football!

Been out of the net the last couple of days, so am late with this post, but:
-- Think Ben deserves an A for the game. Mill correctly points out several of his errors in the game, but I still give him an A for overall quarterbacking, leadership, and clutch play.
-- Echoing the complaints about Parker's repeatedly plunging up the middle. This was just dumb football.
-- Sweed was totally faking hurt after he missed the long pass.
-- Reed continues to be money
-- I have faith that our D will be able to handle Warner's quick release and will be able to contain Fitz's RAC work. Here We Go.....

McLovin loves the Enthusiasm Leo!
Ben gets an "A++" from McLovin for not throwing a pick to Ed Reed who had been on int terror having picked 10 in past 8 games.
Not all Parkers fault...the shit OL could not contain BloMe Ngata. Gawd that unit their stupid ass penalties every week are going to give McLovin a stroke! Fire Larry Porn!
Sweed..well McLovin hates Sweed and that fake injury because he couldn't bare going straight to the sidelines was AWFUL...way to go Stupid..cost Steelers timeout AND the game winning TD!
Reed is money...he may hit the game winner! Go Skippy with your bleach blond hair!

Agree that the OL shares the blame. My main problem is with Dumbass Arians, who continually called for running up the middle; showed a complete lack of football IQ, considering the Ravens' strengths, our OL weaknesses, and Parker's tendencies.
As an aside, I normally don't like people who refer to themselves in the 3rd person, but Leo finds the McLovin Superbad references extremely funny.

Pittsburgh had the lead from its very first drive and never gave it away.
Problem with Bruce plunging Parker? ????? Are you serious?. How quickly you forgot what Tomlin said during last week's press conference. The team that wins the turnover battle will win! How quickly you must have forgotten all 4 Pittsburgh Steelers losses. All of them could be traced back to poor plays in the passing game. 9 sacks and 1 int vs. Philli! 5 sacks and 4 int vs. NYG! 2 sacks and 3 int vs. Indy! And finally everyone should remember getting manhandled up front in Tennessee by a rookie, leading to 4 turnovers from the QB position. Maybe Bruce should have called more 5 & 7 step drops vs. Baltimore? ....
Until Flacco threw Troy that pick 6, the turnovers were even at 1. A+ effort from the entire Steelers team for playing well with the lead. Pittsburgh never gave a very opportunistic Ravens team their way to win the game with points off of turnovers from foolish unnecessary pass plays!! In the end it came down to forcing the Ravens QB to make an effort that was anything but pedestrian, he failed, you know, like we all knew he would.
Thank you Mr. Rooney for not employing any of the morons on this board!

Huh? Dude, read the posts again. Not complaining about running the ball. Complaining about HOW we ran the ball. You don't run Willie Parker straight up the gut every time. Mix in some outside runs, or put Willie in the I.
