Great writeup as usual, Mill. The splinter group across the street has the imbecile Iron City doing the writeups and they pale in comparison to your combination of wit and intelligence.
My favorite part (among many):
Rookie 1st rounder Ziggy Hood played very, very sparingly. After all, he hasn’t yet mastered the entire playbook in 3 foreign languages, which is what Dick demands from rookies.
It's "The Steeler Way" don't ya know!
PS-can we start the "fire Arians now" movement already? I wanted that sack of crap fired after last season but everyone jumped on the "hey, we won a Super Bowl with him so I guess he's not that bad!" bandwagon. Same with the putrid "offensive" line.

I know the O-line sucked eggs but FWP looked like he had no burst & was making stupid reads like he did in '06. He just looks beat up & unable to juke even one guy. Mendenhall will supplant him in the very near future. We luv ya FWP but you're gonna end up like Franco - on another team w/ no hope & no talent left.

I have to admit that I’m worried about the running game, but I’m still somewhat optimistic. Here’s why:
1) FWP saw all of 4 carries in the preseason and is still nursing injuries so how could he be ready to play against a strong D like Tennessee. I think he was a little timid and Bruce’s brilliant, creative schemes did nothing to play to FWP’s strengths. I don’t think he’s done. I think he needs to break a few long ones and gain some confidence. Then, I think we’ll see the real FWP again.
2) Frank the Tank is as green as they come and is suffering from a serious case of rookie vertigo. I think he’ll catch on because he’s a smart, persistent, hard worker.
3) Mendy is a bit of a wild card at this point. I thought he would be further along by now. Maybe he just needs a little more time to catch on to Bruce’s overwhelmingly complex and innovative offense. Uh, well… nevermind. Out of all the RBs in the Stillers stable, he worries me the most but I’m not ready to throw in the towel just yet on this guy.
4) The O-line actually looked pretty solid during the no-huddle. Maybe they are coming together a little more.
5) Maybe, just maybe Bruce will remove his head from his posterior, where it has been firmly planted since he became OC, and actually utilize the talent he has. He is the element that I have the least faith in and ultimately the root of all our offensive woes. Quick-short passes (even on 1st down), sweeps and pitches are not illegal in the NFL Bruce…

No, they are not illegal BUT fakery and trickery ARE, if you're The Blood Clot!
When you have the 1-back and "bunch" the WR's by the TE, that means you are running and you HAVE to run. Must be the rule otherwise I'd like to think BB is smart enough to audible out of this nonsense. He never does and we get stiffed for 3 yd loss after the backs have been hit by 3 linebackers and 1 or more DB's.
Heck, even the ballboys could get in on this action. They know what's coming just as much as we do.
Sprint draws, pitches, short tosses to the flat to free them in space, any number of options but no, we have to run it into a phone booth where 5 D-lineman are trying to see if they can all occupy the same space at the same time. When did you last see a back (1 of ours!) reverse field and break to the outside?

So very true and so painfully sad...
