Since when is anything that has to do with lifting weights not a measurable? College and Pros all keep record of those MEASURABLES. Mill you're such a blowhard..body strength, leg strength, power, leverage, and explosiveness can ALL BE MEASURED! What do you think all those drills at the combine are for? When a coach sees a player with MEASURABLES then they go to game film whether college or pro and see if their measurables transfer to the football field. They can watch a player practice and see if those measurables can be used on the football field. You can see heart and desire on a football field Mill...those are the Lamberts and Singletary's, and Sam Mills, Walter Paytons etc that didn't have the PHYSICAL measurables but make it in the NFL. A measurable Harrison didn't have that you said yourself was INTELLIGENCE. He couldn't understand the system so he was cut 3 times! Alas here he is finally understanding and excelling!

Thanks again for showing your ignorance. EXPLOSIVENESS (in terms of hitting) and LEVERAGE, in pads, cannot be measured at a combine. It has to be seen in person to be appreciated. And we, and we ALONE, had that opportunity. "Understanding the system" is for brainiac nerds. Give me a hard-hitting PLYAMAKER any fuking day over a brainiac nerd who makes a play once a game. Yer telling me a demonic LB couldn't have been placed onto the roster for SPECIAL TEAMS and then groomed for the intellectual encyclopedia stuff ???? No one said Harrison needed to be kept and then immediately placed ATOP the depth chart. He should have been kept and placed on our horrific special teams, to help shore it up....and then he should have been groomed to help as a LB.
But instead, Lord Billy Cowher, who has papal infallibility in your eyes, cut the guy.......3 fuking times. Same guy who cut DAN KREIDER in favor of Jon Wittman. Hank Fraley as well. Now, STFU.

Right back at you tough guy
Uh, just remember, tough guy, that I happen to have the ability of the last word around here.

There must be something in the air down there in Atlanta Mclovin. There is no way Harrison should have been cut once let alone three times. He should have at least made the team on special teams as one man wrecking ball. Clearly Billy and Dick blew it!

Re: Foote 11th best player
I am glad the Stillers get along better than their fans!
I cannot beleive Foote could be rated equal to Smith...Foote has his moments...but Timmons really shoud be playing ahead of him...i think it is important to be patient and allow Timmons the opportunity to really learn all the nuances of the system before he is the starter....but I sure hope it is him at the beginning of next year...
and I hope farrier doesn't slow down any more for the next couple of years...I think the extension for him is one of the more questionable moves...of course in football teams are able to cut their losses...unlike some other sports.

Yeah, but according to McLovin, Cowher was CORRECT in cutting Harrison.....3 fuking times. When a young free agent LB comes in and cannot memorize the playbook in at least 3 different languages within 1 week, by golly you cut his ass, according to McLovin.
Let's not forget.....the only reason Harrison ever STUCK with the team, was due to Haggans' broken hand.

So Power like Mill you know more about a player than two potential hall of fame coaches in Cowher and LeBeau? C'mon bro, clearly Harrison is now a great player but his journey to becoming that great player included getting cut 3 times. He had the ability not the intelligence to grasp the system why else was he cut 3 times? Other teams misevaluated him too not just the Steelers. The Steelers always have talented LBs where was their even room for a raw, talented PROJECT like Harrison to take up a roster spot? Sure he ultimately made it work on special teams and now here he is Defensive Player of the Year. Good for him, Good for the Steelers, and good for us fans

Only the RAVENS mis-evaluated him, as did the Steelers. No one else mis-evaluated him because nobody else had him inside their practice facility. You don't understand. We HAD the guy in our facility, on the field. He was blowing up offensive plays by the bushelful. He was a force that could not be blocked. And all Billy and Dick wanted was some feeble-fuk, Justin Kurpeikis look-alike who would meekly say "Yeh-sir", "No-sir" and clean up the blocking dummies each day. They had this bountfiul talent sitting in front of them, and all the two dumfuks could think was, "Duh, uh, gee, he hasn't quite memorized the playbook after 4 days, and uh, gee, he seems bad tempered and mean-spirited.......duh, uh, gee, that's not a guy we need for our great defense...."
Get this thru your thick skull -- they (Cowhard and LeBleu) fuking BLEW IT. Thanks Christ that Harrison didn't end up on the Browns, or Ravens, or Pats, or Colts.
Re: Foote 11th best player
well I'm sure they saw potential but of course not knowing the playbook or even making an effort to learn the playbook was something they didn't like. After all there's a reason why the guy was cut 3 times, not in a bad way. If they saw no potential in him at all, I doubt they would have kept the door open for him to try out after being cut the 1st time.
really glad that guy didn't end up being a raven though. if that was the case it's very possible they would be the AFC champs right now. suggs/harrison would possibly be scarier than harrison/woodley, or just as bad. in any case i'd hate to go up against a linebacking duo like that, thank god he's on our side.

They're just getting warmed up! (Hopefully, they won't miss the Super Bowl.)

This guy really a mod on here? Dear god....
You gotta be pretty insecure to threaten a poster with a ban over a difference of opinion, don't ya think?
StillMill definitely can't use vulgarity and name calling as justifications for a ban...seeing as how StillMill is the one that started all that.
On boards I frequent, we generally expect the mods to be the ones attempting to keep the peace and some semblance of professionalism among the posters...not the ones breaking the peace.
But I guess things work a little differently here...

Hey Greenhorned rookie,
Seeing how this was your THIRD post here, please don't show up here as a newbie and start preaching about how THIS board should run. We've been here for 10 (ten) years now. Yup, TEN. If ya don't like how we do things 'round here, run along to GayNation or some other vaseline-laden site.

Re: Foote 11th best player
Foote is clearly not in the top 10 as far as importance. He is easy replaceable for what he does. I'd venture to say that Key Fox could outplay Foote. Foote starts because of his tenure with the team. He wont be starting next season.
If you trust Bill Cowher then you absolutely need your head checked. There could be a book written on his bonehead gameday and personnel decisions. There's 15 years worth. All you have to do is look at the level that Tomlin has taken this DB backfield. Trust me, we haven't seen this kind of play from this defense since Lake, Jones, Woodson and Perry.

It's possible. It's also possible that you are married to a gay groundhog.
It's also possible that is why a dozen HC's got fired this year
No, you are wrong. Coaches become enamoured of poor performers all the time in all pro sports. They marry their decisions

McLovin and Mill, sitting in a tree...=)
Great debating guys... good to hear all points of view.
I have no opinion about the Harrison thing.... unless I was on the team or staff to get the whole story... maybe Billy did screw up, we all know Cowher's weaknesses...
I still credit his (at least partially) for trading up to get Troy... =)
