Re: New Article: Stillers-PoeBirds Postgame......will be publish
The only thing I didn't like on D were a few plays that coverage guys were not staying with thier guys...and a few broken plays were the D did not protect their lanes on the field...and a few missed tackles...but overall the coverage was too much for flacco...the pressure rattled him and made him hurry choices...like when woodley and then harrison converged upon flacco and he threw it to washinton for the INT...i think troy was the first there to congratulate him...it is a complex D and a part of it is the freedom Dick L gives Troy...when Troy is playing at the inspired levels he was last night...the rest of the defense just has to do their jobs...their were some breakdowns...but I think most of them are things Lebeau will be talking to them about and working to avoid...LeBeau is the Man! We are so Lucky to have him as our #1 Defense's coordinator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta disagree with some of those grades.
- If Ben doesn't get an "A" for yesterday, he'll never get one. That was one of his best performances since he became a Steeler, arguably his best.
- Holmes, at least a B+ for his long TD run. He also had a nice punt return and that "incompletion" near the goal line is debatable.
- Sweed gets a "D" for dropping that TD pass, not an "F". He redeemed himself somewhat afterwards.
- The OC gets a "D". Predictable, yes. Maybe too conservative in the 2nd half, yes. But after Hines went out, we were limited somewhat. Rookie Sweed instead of Hines. You do the math on that.
- DC "C-"? They only got 198 yards of offense. Both TDs aided by penalties and a long punt return set up a short field on the first TD.

Still Mill,
I declare you an angry fool. I've read your nonsense for way too long, and today I wake up and read your b.s. for one more day, on a day we should all be celebrating. Your grades are ridiculous, even without you re-watching the game. An F for Arians? C'mon, even I see that this guy is subpar, even terrible at times, but we did get a lot of yards, on offense, against a goddamn great defense. And Sweed gets an F? C'mon, he did keep the game from being a 2 point game by breaking up that poor Ben throw. C- for LeBeau?!! I thought you were at the game? Please shut up from now on. Your little rants are no longer enjoyable, nor objective. Seriously, shut up. Let the rest of us enjoy our Super Bowl.
Hines Ward for president!

Beach -- you've figured out Mill's schtick. Everyone gets the same grades every week, no matter what they do on the field.
On a positive note: if you TIVO'd this game, watch Heathcliff Miller on the Santonio TD. It is priceless.
Miller explodes his man coming on the blitz, putting his ass on the ground. Then Miller charges down the field at a dead sprint to lead the blocking for Holmes.
He should get the hardhat for that play alone.
But, alas, he is in Mill's doghouse...

I think Mill's ratings or Grades are measured against pure excellence or maybe even perfection, when most of us probably rate the team vs. the rest of the league. The Stillers have the number 1 defense, but they are not perfect by any stretch... just better than any other team in the NFL.
That being said, even graded against perfection, I would give LeBeau a B or B+ even if I was brutally harsh on him. LeBeau was the one who chose to play back in coverage in Cover 2 most of the game, and I'm not sure how you could argue that it didn't work very well... but what's just me =)

Measuring against "perfection" in a sporting event is absolutely absurd. I mean, what is perfection in a game? Would Lebeau have to keep the offense to 0 yards total offense and 0 points for perfections? But that can't be perfection either since you can hold a team to negative yards, right? What many turnovers entails "perfection"?
Furthermore, Polamolu received an A, yet I know he wasn't "perfect". He missed a tackle or two that he could have theoretically made. Why'd he get an A, but Lebeau didn't? Why does one have to be held against some magical standard of perfection, but the other only gets a grade based on a few impact plays? I could skip the game, catch the highlights on Sportcenter and come up with a grading scheme that's just as accurate.
I think that's the rub that most people have. It's not that Mill is harsh, it's that he's horribly inconsistent to the point where his reviews have become nothing but satire. Even worse, the negative side of his inconsistencies are routinely against the same guys, no matter how they play.
Mill will pick 3 or 4 plays where Farrior made mistakes, outline him to his liking knowing full well no one cares enough to go back and look at said plays, and then make Farrior out to be the worst player in the world for it. Yet, if I didn't have a life and had more free time, I could easily go back and do the same exact thing for every player on the field, for both teams, for every game this season.
He seems to think that because he shows anecdotal evidence of something, then he MUST be right (screw context, screw the other 40 plays that player was involved in).

Excellent analysis again . . . .
I'm having sleepless nights about an Arians led offense in the big one!!
one question, . . . . "Were you in the house per chance?"

Brilliant Offensive Review
I will read the D review later today...
Great Observation on Parker only being able to run wide and making 6 yards...they ran him to the left side...and then i never saw the f&$in' play again...why?
Still, you also brought up a great point about Holmes that had not been mentioned here...why did he reach out like that...and others...and his hurdle into the end zone also...troy put the ball up but ran in...holmes still had a great day for them...
Great insight in some weaknesses of our offensive lineman...they were not horrible...but a false start on the first drive? and some poor success against some big guys...and the shove by Kream Puff atu was weak! if you are going to retaliate...at least thrw them to the ground hard the way Lambert would have...
Miller was big on some blocks and some catches...he needs a few catches against the cards early
And great review of Ben's game...the passing was not perfect...i doubt it will ever be...but he mixed his evasiveness with some smarts and throw aways...
I hope Arians can devise a simple game plan that has high energy, quick hitting plays and plays to the strength of our line..which has some unity....just not an excess of skill...they can play good if Arians does not make them play away from their strengths...
Why no I formation? even though we do not have Kreider...it has worked for us welll...I new it would not work against the ravens...but it looks as though it is an afterthought of Arians...it should be where he Starts!!!
I hope Tomlin and Arians can use the extra time to talk these things over
one additional thought...Tomlin took the blame for the horrible call and clock management at the end of the 1st....that was really the worst moment in the game for me...and it cam at halftime...we cannot affor that kid of emotional letdown in the Super Bowl...Tomlin, I am confident, will step up!

I disagree with arians running up the gut of willie a bunch of times but to give him an F for winning the game?
just because we have enough offensive talent to score more points and overcome arians' ineptitude doesn't mean he deserves more than an F.
he doesn't go back to plays that work, and he sticks with plays that don't work.
Re: New Article: Stillers-PoeBirds Postgame......will be publish
If spotted the ball inside the 3 yd line Balt can score. One big punt return and 2 PI's are worth 14 points, else Balt offense suked. This should have been a blowout instead of 4thQ coranary waiting to happen. Make sure we check off on the play sheet things that work, so we dont run them again, my god what a mistake that would be! Duh, Wards hurt (big problem) make sure MIller goes out for passes all the F$&^%in time now(duh & more duh) not pass block, put somebody else back there, god dammit!! This was an inexcuseable non adjustment, he went with Limas, damn almost worked . Limas is a rookie, hasnt played much, this is the AFC championship for cryin out loud, what the Fuk are u thinking? Almost dont cut it here. FlakeO is a rookie too Hopefully, my the time Flakko jells the Balt defense will be willting. Gotta keep Ray he's the heart & soul of the team, bust the bank, screw Suggs and Scott, etc. It might bring a tear to my eye seeing them gone, but gotta have Ray.
Arz offense and especially this L. Fitzgerald guy look pretty good Hope Wards knee is not a problem, especially if Miller is disegnated pass blocker, oh god.

I find it really funny that people are giving Mill a hard time for his grades, but then they go questioning James Harrison's play, Why because he didn't get a sack?
It seems as though getting constant pressure on Flacco, flushing him on numerous plays, making big stops, isn't enough anymore. I am pretty sure he was the reason for disrupting Flacco on two of the three INTs Flacco threw.

Still you wrote,"Slow as he is, Clark at least can usually be counted on to deliver the big blow to a defenseless, unsuspecting receiver."
So basically you're calling Clark a cheap shot artist. That's bullshit! The hit on McGahee was a legal hit. As far as being defenseless or unsuspecting, any reciever going across the middle, knows he's going to get hit.

Funny, this is the exact same bullshit rationalization that was bandied about for years by the GAA (GilDong Apologists Association). And funny, we here at Stillers.com was correct on the pussyfied, horseshit play by Big Jason. I don't fawn and waste time on PRO players making ROUTINE plays. I isolate on the the good and the bad, and in Farrior's case, the bad has been simply wretched. Farrior has been an over-hyped, over-adulated turd, and it showed again vs. the Ravens. I highly suspect it will be shown again on the big stage in Tampa.
Now, shut the fuk up and run back to the GAA.

Nope. I never asserted it was an illegal hit. Nor that it was a cheap shot. I merely stated that Clark can always be counted on to deliver the big blow to a defenseless, unsuspecting receiver. If given the chance to deliver the big blow to a prepared, suspecting ballcarrier, Clark more often than not is rarely ever to be found.

how dare you sir. you should have given everyone A PLUS PLUS PLUS with super duper GOLD STARS!

While McLovin's got you here how can you say Benji played just OK when he played most of the game without Ward, plays EVERY game behind the worst OL in football, and most importantly kept the ball away from Ed Reed who had 10 ints in his past 8 games? AND did you mistakenly go to Arizona on Sunday Mill? What fucking game were you watching? Giving LeBeau a C- is the dumbest grade ever posted justified by ramblings of luck and rookie qbs. The Steelers beat the Ravens 3 times this year thanks to Dick and his "luck"! Get a clue dude

i do agree that ben's biggest accomplishment in that game was keeping the ball out of reed's hands.
