Gruden was unbearable

Postby Coke Oven » Tue Nov 10, 2009 7:19 am

He was so blatantly anti Steelers that I had to mute the tv whenever he would speak. What's up with these guys? Is someone paying them to do that?

Really, even with all that Mariano Rivera "I love how the Steelers close out games" stuff?. I might have to disagree with you on that. What are some of your examples? :?:

Examples, please? To me he sounded like a Steeler fan the way he was gushing about how the defense closes games.

I couldn't disagree more. I heard a lot of praise from Gruden.

Every week someone complains about some announcer being "anti-Steelers" just because they praise the other team at some point.

Yeah, I don't think Gruden was hating on the Stillers. I actually think he's been quite good in the booth this season and is getting more natural at it. By actually talking about what's relevant in the game, he's an immense improvement over Tony Kornheiser.

Nevermind Gruden - is Jaworski retareded? In the first half they were going on that sacks on Big ben were a result of coverage and Ben holding onto the ball. Then, to start the second half, the Polish retard begins with key for the steelers as the o-line needs to start protecting Ben, something they are not doing well. Someone replay his broadcast to him.

You must have listened to a different game than me. I thought Gruden was so pro-Steeler they were going to put him on the radio broadcast with Hilgrove and Tunch.

Agree - I thought Gruden was pro-Stillers

I always turn on 102.5 for game commentary. These a$$holes in the booth are just too painful to listen to.

Especially CHICKEN BOY Chris - never-won-a-Lombardi - Collingsworth. What a fag...

I believe you are mistaking Gruden for Steve Young? I thought Gruden was the best part of the broadcast last night! Young is a pompous jackass who seems to hate on the Stillers, especially Big Ben. Maybe he is jealous of Montana and his PA roots?

:sufootballhelmet: I live in Denver, and one of the local sportscasters interviewed Gruden and he was pimpin' da Steeler's big time! During the interview, the sportscaster said, well i was going to ask you who you favor to win tonight, but it's obvious! So, Gruden did not seem anti-Steeler in the least.

I thought Gruden was running an infromercial for the Steelers. He talked up every aspect of the team including the offensive line in which listening to him made it sound like they were all Pro Bowl linemen. I thought his in sight into the game and breakdown of plays was excellant.

John Gruden is the best thing that has happened to MNF in a long time. Think of Kornheiser, Dennis Miller and Dan Fouts. It's like thinking of Kordell Stewart, Mike Tomczak and Tommy Maddox and comparing them to Ben Roethlisberger.

I thought all of Gruden's favorable Steeler comments were tongue in cheek disingenuous. When he said he loved how the Steers closed out games he looked like it absolutely killed him to say it. You guys who thought he was sincere are probably all liberal democrats.

His analysis was rediculous with such classics as: "Travis Kirshke is a foorball player" Why thanks Chucky I wondered why he had a uniform on. "If you can run after you make the catch you have the opportunity to make some mileage" Thanks Captain Obvious I didn't know that. He also sounded drunk at the end of the game. He was unlistenable.

I think Gruden is awesome and didn't notice any Steeler hate coming from him.

Gruden talks a little too much but he does have good insight. His explaining why the Orton play action on 2nd & 11 was useless, was a good example of his analysis. Overall, I like the addition of Gruden. You can't expect a guy not to say something bad re: the Stillers, especially when they deserve it.

I'm glad Kornheiser is gone.

Good to see that you can be idiotic across a wide spectrum. When you're in a hole, quit digging.
