First Post - Anyone planning on coming to Toronto in Aug?

Postby StillCanadian » Fri May 30, 2008 5:31 pm

I'm breaking my virginity finally.

I grew up in Toronto with a father who introduced me to the Stillers in the 70's. Have made a few trips to Steel town to see the black and gold (+ some Pirate games). Have yet to be at Heinz (young family has derailed road trips with the boys over the past 5 yrs).

I'm hoping that all of you will make the trip north to see our beloved Stillers put a big time beating on the Bills!

Welcome to the board. Glad you finally spoke up.

Doesn't Tornoto have all those casinos?
It might make a nice weekend road trip.
What are tickets going for?

Toronto in Aug - great weekend. Casino in Niagara Falls is the stop (no casino within Toronto - you would have to drive a fairly long distance). Lot's to do with very friendly people.

Bill and Argo season ticket holders had first choice. After that is was a lottery. Over 180K entries for the lottery. Anyhow, an acquaintance through work won the lottery. He had to buy all 8 tickets (5 seasons) - pay up front. His seats are roughly $150 each. Based on the fact that people are foaming from the mouth over these tickets I would suggest 2-3x. Plenty of Steeler fans up in Toronto, obviously Bill fans.

I understand why the fans from the south will frown on paying that much for a pre-season game. The atmosphere will be awesome though. NFL is huge here in Toronto. Very diverse fan base.

Just watching those 1st and 2nd rounders play has me excited. Just think of the weapons that we have now on O. I just hope we use the young picks from last year on D (Aaron Smith cannot get hurt).
