when we need him the most. People say how great he is but seems to me he's too frail to be compared with the great Steeler centers of the past.

It is alittle troubling that his first two years out of the gate he can't go a full season. Time will tell but Dawson and Webster never seemed to go down year after year.

I followed Pouncey close as a Gator fan & loved his speed. However, I believe some guys move their feet a little too much & too fast in the clogged Center position, and this may be the case for him. That being said, you have to love his ability & hope he can be an anchor for many yrs.

At this point I'd settle for his being healthy and in the lineup for the entire postseason. I can't help but think the very first pass play in last year's SB (where Ben got pressured up the middle, took a shot on his forearm on the follow through, and ended up underthrowing Wally by five-ten yards for a pick) might have played out differently with Pouncey working the middle.

I say give the kid a break as far as the injuries are concerned. He certainly has the heart and ability to make good on all of the lofty standards which he is being held at.

Pounce came in with enough fan fare to get him shipped to consecutive Pro Bowls. For all the players who don't deserve to be voted to the island, Pouncey has actually played EXTREMELY well when he has been on the field.

Perhaps it seems like he is always hurt, because we notice the O-line's regression when he is on the sidelines. MP is definitely a guy the Stillers will lean on to go deep in the playoffs.

I disagree.

Pouncey was hurt and should have come out of the game long before he did. The trainer even went out onto the field and didn't take Pouncey out.

His injury might not have been as severe if the coaching staff and trainers made the right decision, but like most coaches, their thinking is very short-term.

Most players play hurt and so does Pouncey so it is up to the coaching staff to keep these guys healthy for the long-haul and especially the playoffs rather then just the current play or game.

see, also, BR7 suiting up two of the last three games of the reg season with an ankle you shouldn't go grocery shopping on. God forbid the HC make a tough call and overrule his QB.
