I THINK I KNOW WHAT PART OF THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE...

Postby Crucible-steel-kid » Mon Sep 26, 2011 11:33 pm

I was talking to a former Linebacker for the New Orleans Saints as he came into my job the other day. We got to talking about various teams and players, especially Michael Vick. I brought up my Stillers and what happened last year with James Harrison and the 2 Brown's receivers that got put down.

He said, that as a direct result of all that mess and distraction related to those hits, it is almost as if the players are reluctant to really let loose and play all out or fines and penalties are the result. I have to say I see his point. he said that it wasn't that way when he played (late 1990's), and most of our guys like Mel Blount and Jack Lambert were not dirty players.

So, maybe the league has taken some of the enthusiasm out of football - especially the type of football that Pittsburgh plays. The brutal and physical games that made teams nervous about coming to 3 Rivers Stadium and Heinz Field. Now, we are just a disrespected team that gets bitch slapped week after week relentlessly.

So, to Roger Fuckface Goodell: :sufu:

We'll still win within the confines of the new league and new rules...

Just a thought.
