Gilbert to start at RT on Sat.
Interesting. Due to Jon Scott's injury, FatFuk Gilbert will start at LT. Good test vs. Father Abraham.
Gilbert enraged me when he showed up at camp FAT and out of shape. I can barely tolerate a veteran doing it....but a fuking rookie ? Gilbert does have great talent, and he might be our best option. It's not like Scott is the 2nd coming of Munoz.
Also, it almost appears Hills is being handed the RG spot. let's see how he looks on Sat. Foster is proabbly in the doghouse after that cheap shot vs. Philly, and apparently hasn't impressed the coaching staff, either. Had he doen so, the move to RG by Hills prob would have never occurred.
In theory, Essex could push to start at RG....but I think the staff would prefer to keep him as a versatile "pinch hitter" that can come in cold, during a game, in case of injury, either at OG or OT. Not many linemen can backl up at both spots.

Re: Gilbert to start at RT on Sat.
After reviewing the game, I am somewhat underwhelmed by Gilbert's performance. He was adequate at stopping most of the bull rush attempts, much like a fat man at a carnival catching a cannon ball in the gut. However, if the defender attempted to put a move on Gilbert, he was off balance and had very poor footwork. He also needs to use his hands better.
The Offense moved the ball pretty well, so he wasn't totally awful, but I noticed several plays where they kept a back in to chip his guy and help him out.

Looks like Legurski gets the starting nod at guard with Essex backing up center now. I don't know about this move. I feel a lot more comfortable with Legs backing up center. Essex is probable more suited to play guard. Someone needs to step up and own this position!
