Emmanuel Sanders - a plea for hardhat

Postby anthonyc20 » Tue Jan 25, 2011 4:39 pm

Haven't posted here in a while but I saw something on Sunday I thought worthy of posting about.

Emmanuel Sanders deserves the hard hat for the game against the Jets and I'd like to nominate him for consideration by the committee. Why? After attending the game I watched it on TV, only for my own pleasure but kept noticing emmanuel sanders making plays all over the field. He only had 1 catch, so why am I going on this diatribe. The man was a beast in blocking downfield for the running game. Time after time he got into his corners face, sometimes knocking him on his backside and moving onto a safety. I haven't seen this kind of blocking from a WR outside of Hines Ward ever in the NFL. From a guy who just entered the league that had some speed bumps early from being held on the bench for a scrub veteran (El) to having a couple blunders against the pats and having to compete with Brown early to get a jersey on game day, he is as tough as they come. His performance in bulldozing dbs on Sunday cemented him in my mind as a true stiller, and can't wait to see how the team utilizes him after having 2 weeks to plan for the pack.

I love this guy. I will go back and watch the game as well.
You want to see blocks? Look him up on youtube vids.
He is Mike Wallace w/ Hines Ward thrown in. Mentioned that after we drafted him and went to youtube for looksee.
He will be special next year, if only we learn how to use his skill set.

If we win, I am still hoping Hines comes back. 1 more year to let Wallace truly take center stage, get Sanders and Brown ready. I then hope Hines moves into coaching receivers. He has so much to offer, especially youngsters.

I, for one, was very rough on Kemo for his mindless pile-driver in Balt. game. Someone posted here a pic of Hines being the guy to meet Kemo before he came off the field to "talk it over". That is what was needed but I did not see that on TV.

Sanders will the guy to replace Ward in the line-up. Sky's the limit for him.

I honestly think Brown is the better playmaking receiver. He's electric everytime he gets the ball in his hands and has the same swagger that Santonio had. Sanders irritates me when he feels its suitable to make an unnecessary diving catch every time the ball is thrown to him (in stride). I agree that he can replace Ward...as a slot receiver. He's not Mike Wallace in any way.
