Re: New Article: Power Rankings (week 13)
Strange that the Steelers will have a total of 6 games versus the top 5 on this list when teh regular season is done... I'm not sure how good we will be in the playoffs, but if Pittsburgh goes 3 and 3 against these guys then I would say we have a very good shot at the title.
Having said that, it might just come down to matcups and who we face in January. The only teams I don't want to see are New England and the Saints simply because they clearly have better coaching and coaching is the biggest advantage a team can have these days. So, if we can play the following in the playoffs, I think we are champs:
1st round: Baltimore(after they beat the Colts)
AFC Championship: Chargers(after they beat the Jets and New England)
Super Bowl: Atlanta or Green Bay

We will certainly know what a good team looks like by the end of the year given our schedule. We basically will have played them all.
I agree with the match-up point. We need to face teams like the Ravens and Jets. We need go stay away from the Pats and Saints. SD may now fall into the latter category as well.
Unless we totally fall out of the hunt tonight via getting crushed by the Ravens, I think our path would look best like this:
RD 1 -- game against the Chiefs (as the AFC West winnner)
RD 2 -- Jets
RD 3 -- either no game due to Division Champ or Ravens
SB -- Falcons (not sure we can cover the Packer WR and they have one of our former defensive coordinators coaching there so they know our system) If somehow the Giants make the SB or the Bears, we likely can play with them. I do not like Saints or Packers as opponents and I have doubts about our ability versus the Eagles, although they are last in the league in red zone D so the O should be able to score against them.
Most likely scenario:
RD 1 -- at Indy or Jax (both winnable)
RD 2 -- at NE (that's it).

Now that the Pats have humiliated the Jets, this puts the Steelers in line with going to New England for the AFCC... The teams that can beat the New England before we need to go there are SD and the Colts. The problem is, these two teams might not even make the playoffs.
I guess we'll have to take care of business ourselves.
