LeBeau is partially to blame here. We don't really blitz the entire game and Flacco has all the time to dink and dunk down the field. When he does blitz, he takes our best coverage player away to leave TJ 1-on-1 with McFadden.

You have Harrison, Timmons, Woodley, and Ziggy and you gamble at the end of the game to blitz Troy? Asinine if you ask me...

For the life of me, I don't know why the Steelers make their CB's play 12 to 15 yards of the WR in such situations. McFadden is in no-man's land. TJ is either going to get 10 yards on that play or score. A blame Dick for this - it happens over and over again.

It all comes down to getting pressure on the opposing QB. When our defense is able to do it, we win pretty easily. When our defense can't do it we usually lose. When a pro QB can stand in a pocket and has time to go through his progression of receivers, he'll pick them apart every time.
Some games our pass rush is just nonexistence for some reason. Good game plan and coaching by the other team I guess.

Ballhair, post is about the idiocy of OC, but since you did address getting pressure, watch how many times Farrior, Woodley any corner, and even Troy, run right into blockers. Most times, it sems there is no plan to getting a straight shot to QB.
Harrison and Timmons have to fight off blockers to get to QB or pressure. Very rarely do we a guy free with a straight, uninterrupted rush to the QB's. Why is that?

Love to see Timmons on delayed blitzes using his speed, he'd still get there in time. Allow for a lane to open and get blockers occupied with other D-men to where they can't get to Timmons. Don't see it though.
