Who to PICK: Odrick, Williams or Graham???
After watching the Senior Bowl all of these guys looked like real good players and someone the Steelers could use.
J. Odrick - 6'5" - 300lbs - the perfect size for a 3-4 DE and he has the speed to play the pass and the strength to play the run. Plays a lot like a young Aaron Smith.......who is quickly approaching the end.
D. Williams - 6'2" - 330lbs. - has 3-4 NT written all over him.......quick for a big two gap run stuffer........again a lot like a young Casey Hampton.
B. Graham - 6'1" - 260lbs. - scouts say he is Lamar Woodley Jr. He was MVP of the Sr. Bowl and looked like a pass rushing nightmare for OT's. James Harrison is already 30 yrs old........Steelers have no real back-up for Harrison or Woodley........he could a great insurance policy much like Mendenhall.
Sooooo, you are making the 18th o/a pick so who do you take??????????

That's easy. Even though the Penn Stater in me like Odrick.

Dan Williams or Mount Cody, unless both are gone; then take best OL or DB.

I just wonder why it is mentioned so much about Harrisons age? It is not like he has been playing every down for 7 years. He was a journeyman and is now hitting his stride. I think he has atleast 3 or 4 more years left. He has not had the injury bug starting either. Look at Farrior who has been an every down player for 10 years same with Aaron Smith. Not the same with Harrison who's rise took a lot longer and his body seems to me to have been saved more.

I trust Penn St linebackers but I don't trust their lineman. Tamba Hali & Aaron Maybin could pan out buy what have Jimmy Kennedy, Anthony Adams, & Jay Alford done since they were drafted in the top 81 picks of their respective drafts? Not to mention total #1 bust Courtney Brown.
I personally think it would be insane for the Stillers to take another D-lineman or LB-convert in the first 2 rounds. Their needs in the secondary & on the O-line are much more pressing.

Jeff Hartings and Levi Brown are/were both good. Though, I agree w/ the other busts.

I think Grill meant PSU D-linemen, not their O-linemen.

Well then!!!!!!!!!!!,
Point taken.

Eh, why would they take Lamar Woodley Jr when they already have Lamar Woodley Sr. Just not a need right now. Same with Odrick. He'd be more of a luxury pick where we need help elsewhere. Williams can potentially be a three down player. Sean Weatherspoon looked great in the Sr Bowl too. Give him a year to learn behind Farrior and he could slide right in.

With McClain off the board, maybe Williams is the pick at 18. Only maybe it's Minnesota who is selecting. (They like that Williams-Wall theme) Pgh would receive picks 30, 62 and 93, in exchange for 18 and 52. The Steelers could realize decent value on Pouncey or Spikes at the back end of the first round, and then be able to select a guy like Selvish Capers, Toby Gerhart, or even LeGarrette Blount with the extra 3rd acquired from the Vikings. All speculation of getting Perrish Cox are gone in this scenario though...

this better not be true:
Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers may decide to take an inside linebacker with their first-round draft choice.

If it's McClain, then I'm all for it.

Most every team drafting ahead of the us needs OL help. Six teams picking from #8 to #17 need CB help. Eight teams from #5 to #17 need Safety help. Miami and Denver need 3-4 inside linebackers. My point is you take the best available player. You don't take a OT at pick 18 who has a late second round grade because you need one. All the good ones will be picked over. The ILB from Missouri looks like a nice fit at pick 18. Sean Weatherspoon.

Re: Who to PICK: Odrick, Williams or Graham???
There is no friggin reason to take the best available player when the needs in the secondary are so pressing - and will become more so if Cryan Clark isn't signed.
Here are 5 guys who are all worthy of #18 & at least one will be available: Haden (prob gone), K.Wilson, E.Thomas, Taylor Mays, Pat Robinson. That's not counting S Eric Berry who someone will take in the top 10 pix.
I hope they take Thomas because he is an absolute ball-hawk & is smart enough to let Troy do his thing. If they don't take a S or CB in Rd 1, they would be very well served taking Myron Rolle in Rd 2. Think a Rhodes Scholar couldn't pick up Lebeau's defense???

Re: Who to PICK: Odrick, Williams or Graham???
Their lack of depth in the secondary was the deciding factor for them missing the playoffs and all of the big plays that they gave up last year. So I say grab Eric Berry UT, Taylor Mays USC, or Nate Allen USF at the 18 spot, and address the depth at D-line and linebacker in the second round or later. The Steelers need a far above average Safety to back up Troy, and quite possibly lined up next to him as a starter in the secondary come opening day. Any thoughts?
