fat casey
The Steelers are prepared to use the franchise tag on NT Casey Hampton if the two sides can’t agree to a long-term contract before Thursday’s deadline, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Tuesday.
The Steelers could tag Hampton in order to gain extra time to work out a longer deal, as they did last season with OT Max Starks.
Hampton started all 16 games for the Steelers this past season, posting 43 tackles and 2.5 sacks. If he’s tagged, he would receive the average salary of the top five paid defensive tackles in the league, meaning he would be owed $7.003 million.
i dont think that this is a bad thing hopefully we can get a stud in the draft and tell fat hampton to hit the bricks next year

What's wrong with stuffing the line in the most dominant run stopping defenses in the league and racking up 2.5 sacks for a nose guard?

Most over-rated, over-paid, & overweight player in the league. Hood & Timmons are more suited to a 4-3 alignment, which is the direction I believe the Stillers are headed in 2011.

Re: fat casey
Yeah now no 4-3 alignment for a couple years.
Tho technically, Hampton is so fat, the defense actually looks like a 4-4.
The only people in town happier than Hampton are the restauranteurs & the Big&Tall clothing store owners.
