i don't know if id call cassell a disappointment just yet considering what he had to work with. they did lose tony gonzales and dwayne bowe suspension during the season didn't help

I can't believe they say we are #11. We stunk up the joint for 5 games
Re: New Article: Power Rankings (Final)
I was very surprised to see San Diego ranked #1 here. Although they were on fire going into the playoffs, you just knew Rivers and Turner would find a way to turn ice cold like they do every January.
I was also a bit surprised to see Dallas at #5. Another hot team that you knew was going to find a way to choke. Romo, like Rivers and Palmer have perfected the art of choking in meaningful games.
Of course, that was the way it played out in 2009 again... Yes, all is right with the world – except for the fact that the Stillers didn’t even make the playoffs. Still comforting nonetheless.

I agree. I think Stillers should have been ranked at least 2 or 3 spots lower considering they lost to Chicago, Kansas City, Cleveland, and Oakland. All teams under .500.
2009 potential = way higher than #11. Delivery = much, much lower.

Then again, they beat three teams in the top 7 of this list:
Chargers
Vikings
Green Bay
The 4 teams below the Steelers(Falcons, Ravens, Jets, Texans) beat the top 7 twice combined:
Jets when the Colts gave them the game
Ravens beat the Chargers in the only legitimate win these 4 teams have.
So, one impressive victory for these 4 teams. The Jets did beat New England, but the Pats are far more close to being an afterthought than Super Bowl contenders.
Steelers at 11 is just about right.

Steel Tank,
Excellent point. I guess the losses to crappy, sub .500 teams have stayed with me (painfully so) a lot more than the wins over decent teams like Minnesota, Green Bay, San Diego and even Denver when they were 6-1.
This all makes the 2009 season that much more frustrating.
Let’s hope Mike T rights the ship and 2010 is a much different story.
