New Coaches

Postby BigE » Thu Jan 14, 2010 6:07 pm

Of course, as expected the Steelers did not offer Bobby April a contract. Instead, the go out and sign this schmuck named Kugler that was just released from the Bills staff? Typical Stiller front office magic, and then for some reason promote the wide receivers coach to the quarterback coach? I'm not an expert on coaching at all, but how does a WR coach have the now how to coach quarterbacks, can anyone explain?????

This is just a guess so don't hammer me too much. Perhaps they're looking more for a blend of personalities than a technical skill set. The most highly qualified guy can be ineffective if he doesn't have a good rapport with the man above him.

The Steelers ownership and front office are widely regarded around the league for making solid decisions and know what they're doing w/ regard to personnel and ESPECIALLY picking coaches. Keeping their long and distinguished track record in mind, let's give them the benefit of the doubt and see how these latest decisions work out over the next couple of seasons. It amazes me how so many folks jump all over every decision made as if they somehow know the business of pro football so much better.

That's because, although good, we have seen them commit come collosal blunders. Such as Joe Walton and Bruce Arians.

Tomlin wants to include his Guy Amos Jones as Co Coor for the special teams and
April did not want that.

Yeah, you're right, they really suck regardless of the two Lombardis they've won in the past five seasons.

Exactly FGB! Which front office would you prefer? The clowns? Bungles? Raiders? Get real. Damn!

2 in 5 if you count the current season, from which we have been eliminated.
