I blame Rooney

Postby MDSteelersFan » Fri Dec 11, 2009 2:58 pm

Dan Rooney sold his soul to the Devil to get his gig in Ireland.

Thanking a newly elected president on the Lombardi stage after winning the Super Bowl?!?!? Please, whatever your politics that was kiss-ass crap!

Now we have to pay for it with kiss-ass crap football.

We can only pray for him to be forgiven for his transgressions (and for a shut-down corner in next year's draft).

Oh, please, will you stop?

So you hated the politics on the podium. I didn't like it either.

But stop saying stupid shit like this when it's so blatantly not true.

All of you...PLEASE stop.

No- it's just that we had a whole thread on this where someone truly believes it's true, and I didn't realize you were joking.

Careful MD, the board libertards will have a hissy fit and start accusing you of racism. Causal or not, Dan's kissing of Obama's fanny marked the turn towards pussy football

There is no doubt now that Mike Tomlin has created a problem for himself. He created bulletin board material for opposing teams (a cardinal sin) and he has made clear announcements that he has not followed through on. Now noone will believe anything he says. This means he has lost (I hope temporarily) his credibility. And theis loss of credibility just may have transcended to the locker room. My observation is that the team likes him. Hell I like him. But this may be an object lesson in Coaching 101

another cardinal sin) Coaches should NEVER try to be friends with players

There is ample reason to believe that may be a weakness in his approach. We all know that training camp was weak. that he brought pool tables and other recreational crap into the training facility and that he gave the team a week off in the middle of the season

If I was Mike Tomlin I would be worried. And if you have not noticed. He LOOKS worried

Next year will be the test that most coaches go through. Turning around a team in disarray and regaining control. He deserves that chance

Will he make the tough decisions? (hint: Bruce Arians and Dick Lebeau)

I was only half kidding.

I was worried from the get-go this season with Tomlin's lax training camp regimen. He may have been a little too tough on the team his first training camp, but he was way too lax this year. I think the easy camp contributed to our injury problem.

Frankly, I'd rather see Arians go than LeBeau, but I think it will be easier to let LeBeau retire "voluntarily". I don't think there is anything wrong with LeBeau's defense that a top-10 Cornerback + a healthy Polamalu & Smith + an increased role for Ziggy Hood won't fix.

Polamalu reminds me of a drummer I had in a band long ago. He was so good that us guys up front didn't realize how shitty our bass player was until we went into a studio and listened to him play solo with our recorded selves. We couldn't believe (except our drummer of course, he knew) how much the guy sucked! Can you say "William Gay"?

The other thing that is bothering me is Roethlisberger. Something is just not right with him and it started before the hit in KC. Even when he's escaped the pressure (something he was unable to do in Cleveland) he's stepping up and throwing easy picks in the EZ. Something is just not right with the guy.....

I like the band metaphor. We were on top last year and now; one case of domestic violence; one alleged rape; one inept Obama thanking; and one camp cupcake later; we are on the bottom

Cycles; karma; whatever

One thing is for sure; Dynasty is OUT THE FUCKING WINDOW!!
