For those that know me I am NOT negative. FEAR JUST HIT ME..

Postby Hi5Steeler » Tue Dec 08, 2009 2:50 am

I did not notice the brownstains scored 23 points against the chargers. SCARY.

I just realized however badly we have played we will now also be without Hines Ward on thursday against the brownstains.

I also saw that we will be without starting CB William Gay on thursday due to concussion...thanks Ryan Mundy you retard. Gay played badly and is losing lots of yards to WRs most games...but WHO replaces GAY?

Tomlin has hinted he isnt happy with Ike Taylor and could bench him this week.

So let me get this straight....chargers who are surging recently and are 9-3 just had the browns score 23 on em....we could possibly be without BOTH starting cornerbacks in taylor and gay....and hines ward is out it seems......

COLOR ME SCARED AS HELL.

Until all this hit me today I actually thought we may win out. the other teams WILL FOLD and we WILL make the playoffs.....

but now I am afraid.

online betting has us favored by 10 points and I have to wonder WHY?

It will have to take IRON WILL and LEADERS NEED TO STEP UP otherwise we will lose to the shitstains on thursday.

Do not get me wrong. I am high five steeler and as such I do know we will win!!!!

but .....

I am now worried....

fearful.....

We need to unleash hell on the shitstains in three days....KILL those scumbag losers.

and we need to do it with authority.

He is right though. If the Browns who lost to the Chargers show up and we send the lukewarm lose-to-Oakland Steelers out, we're fucked.

So we make the playoffs? And...? I say srew it. Play for next year. Get Ward and Holmes and Mendy 1,000 yads, get Miller 600+ but PLAY THOSE WHO WANT TO TRY AND STEP UP. Let's see who and what we have. Can Sweed play? (I love his talent, just needs his head right). Can Burnett play - 4 or 5 series at a time? Let Dixon PLAY for crying out loud. Ben won't hold up forever and Batch is done.
What do we have in Keenan Lewis? Showcase Idiot Spaeth for trade bait. Let's see who can play and who can't. A. HARRISON, Patrick Bailey - what do we have with these guys? Get Ziggy game experience. We get to the playoffs by pushing starters and lose in 1st round anyway, what have you really gained. (Admit it, all. We are going nowhere this year.) All this push and then we let no one play (Sweed and Hood specifically)

Mckees Rocks, sadly I have to agree. We need to start playing rookies and 2nd stringers to see what potential we have for next year. For god's sake, they can't do any worse than the starters, especially the secondary. Even if we do make the playoffs, no way we beat Indy or New England.
The only hope I have for the playoffs is that we sneak into the last wildcard spot and beat the crap out of the Bungles. Of course, we'll lose in the 2nd round to a real team, but this might make the debacle of the 2009 season bearable. I for one would feel much better about the whole mess if this happens.

That is what 100% of people said in 05 when we got KILLED by Indy regular season and we went to their house in playoffs. All anyone said was we would get ANNIHILATED. 42-3 or thereabouts.

We crushed them in the first half going up 21-0 and it was almost a rout.

This year pats are choking as badly as steelers.

Indy still has a completely immoblie QB that is ridiculously susceptible to sacks AND interceptions. Especially in the playoffs. Yes im talking about peyton manning.

If we make it to the playoffs we should have troy back and we can easily beat pats or colts.

Should'nt matter. Your playing a scrap team with a scrap defense. Just have your 100 million dollar franchise QB with all that talent of offense put up 40 points on the stains. That should do it.
The Steelers will only be as successful as Big Ben is!

Ballhair I hope you are correct. With Ward possibly out I dont see us putting up a 40 burger on the stains with likely heavy storm conditions.

On the plus side they are without sean rogers to clog the middle which should free up our running game.

unfortunately not only is hines injured but so is Mendenhall. he has a sprained swollen ankle.

I dont see willie being a stud right now and that leaves mewelde. who i do believe is a star so that may just carry the day.

I often used this example of Whizenhunt using our Offense with the abilities that were present in the huddle AND being creative, imaginative. But remember, LeBeau went softee there and it came down to McFadden breaking a play in the EZ- where is he, BTW? Those game plans were a sight to watch and we ALL were jazzed to see this unfold. PLUS, like it or not, Cowher took over and re-invented Steeler football at what? 6 & 4 or 5 & 5? He said, "Screw it, new season starts today" and they went and TRULY "UNLEASHED HELL ON THE NFL".

Most of us CAN NOT see that happening with this "D". And certainly NOT with this village idiot we affectionately call an "Offensive" Coordinator. This "D" can't stop a broken clock, for crying out loud and if Arians can't pick up 50 yds at a crack, he throws in the towel. SOOOO much talent, so much has been wasted.

thats a lot of talk without saying a thing.

my point is pats and colts are not going to steamroll steelers in playoffs just because weve had some shitty games.

we proved that in 05 and in 08

last year we got killed by eagles with 8 sacks. and humiliated many more times during year.there were many games our D couldnt hold out to win it. EVERYONE said even if we make playoffs we dont have a chance.

bro...history calls you a liar. twice.

if we make playoffs and if we have troy then we have a better shot at the superbowl than colts or pats.

because we have a BALLER for a QB... not a machine....

The only thing I can say after watching the games I have is that we have the potential to LOSE TO ANYBODY. Period.

as my pal on another site likes to say...tru dat.

BUT.... being that weve lost five of six games by 3 pts and the other game was an overtime touchdown....

You can also take the glass is half full view and say we have the potential to beat anybody. literally. we COULD easily be 12-0. every loss was 3 points.... and we led in all losses....

So while I agree to disagree I do also disagree while being in agreement

For some reason though, I can’t see a repeat of the 05 Super Bowl run.
There was magic in the air then. The Bus’s last season, the whole promise from Ben after the 04 AFC Championship loss to the Patsies. The 05 team (in the 2nd half of the season) seemed pissed and ready to raise holy hell in order to win a game, every game – no matter who the opponent was. The “us against the world” mentality was the prevailing mood in the locker room. They had a chip on their shoulder the size of Mt Washington the latter part of the season and into the playoffs. And they had a worthy cause; they all rallied around the Bus getting his ring before he faded into the sunset.
The 09 team just looks complacent to me. The drive, the mo, the hunger, call it what you will, just isn’t there. No one seems to be really hustling, making the extra effort except for just a few select players. Several players have seen a serious drop-off in production as well. The team seems defeated before they even play the game. I want to but I’m just not feeling it with this team.
All that being said, there is the possibility that Mike T can right the ship. Stranger things have happened and it is possible, however remote. He seemed to know how to get the team inspired for big games and maybe he’ll find that inspiration again. It doesn’t seem to have happened yet this year but I’m certainly not giving up hope.

Thank you, kurtostill. You hit it. There was a mental toughness, a feeling in the air, an "edge". Jerome's last year, Ben's "tackle" against Indy. (If that guy doesn't cut back, but keeps going outside, we lose.) Vander jagt's missed kick. (He was finished after that one!). We had a whole lot going our way during that run and the "D" playing like the run we had in '76 when Bradshaw was down and they posted 2 or 3 shutouts while Kruzek managed the games.

Not happening now. Maybe Troy (beast that he is) is way more valuable than we think or thought?
Ike not stepping up - "0" intercepts for all DB's? Sad, really. Clark can hit, but cover? I think not. Farrior is exposed. Good to see LaMarr making plays again. I am STILL amazed at run D. DL doing fab with Smith out.

NO WAY we stop Indy. I believe we can stop Pats BUT, and I have said many, many times here, Welker would KILL us with 3rd down crossing routes. Moss? Still has it, but IMHO, Welker is the killer. Throw in Faulk as 3rd down option and they move chains ALL DAMN day on us. If we used Holmes or Wallace, (my choice), that way, AND MeMo, we'd convert so many 3rd and 2's, 3rd & 4's because it backs the linebackers up a step or two (the way OURS play on 4th & inches!) and it opens up runs. Ben's 4th down attempt in Oakland game was horrible. Box so freaking stacked, and he just goes right away, doesn't try to find the crease on one side or the other. Why not a quickie to Spaeth at 6'8"? We NEVER have a surprise.

Arians is a Steeler Killer as some who post here describe him. "O" putting up stats but NOT moving the chains. BIGTIME difference. Sort of like a "D" playing soft, or playing "not to lose" as opposed to playing "to win". Big mental difference.

that is also the argument AGAINST 05 being a special season.

we should have salted that indy game away.

if ben missed that tackle we lose.

a single play.....

same shit happened this year in almost every loss we had.

thats not karma...its bad luck followed by good luck. i.e. random chance. ben isnt trained to tackle. dumb luck made the db run badly.
