there are always two starting wide receivers. thursday it will be holmes and wallace. back up and third wr is sweed or mcdonald. they are picking micky D back up. He is currently a better wr than sweed.

In a way, I'm glad for this.

I've wanted to see other personnel groupings for weeks now. One such grouping is the 2WR, 2 TE, 1 RB set with Holmes and Wallace as the two WRs. Gives us a chance to burn the run blitz with a pass to Wallace, who can get open quick and then go deep.

But we were never gonna see this grouping as long as Ward was playing. Now we'll be able to see if it works.

No one will argue Ward's accomplishments on the field.

HOWEVER...treating this guy differently than the rest of the team (limited practices etc.) is bull$hit IMO. And yes, I realize he's not the only one...If he wants special treatment he should consider retirement. These guys get paid a FORTUNE to practice and play...they should do just that.

I love the guy as a player but I'm tired of hearing his bitching.

Ward is a warrior. I can't deny his track record on the field, but after bitching about Ben sitting out the Ravens game, he has no business sitting out over the hamstring. This team has to run the table to even have a prayer of making the postseason, so every game is a playoff game now. Besides, even if he tore his hammy and his career ended, does anyone really think he has any more than three seasons left, or that this receiving corp is truly dead without him?

Not even star quarterbacks can rescue us from a secondary that is simply awful.

Especially when the coaches are still using a philosophy that entrusts the games to said defense.
