Steelers should step up to the plate and hire Weis

Postby SteelerBrian » Mon Nov 30, 2009 3:49 pm

Think of the positives and the rationale. We would upgrade the OC position by merely firing Bruce Arians and not even hiring anyone for the job. Heck, just let Ben call games himself and the Steelers probably increase their offensive output. But with Weis at the controls, and with some authority over Ben and all the weapons that this offense currently has, the Steelers could have the #1 offense in the NFL. Weis brought Tom Brady along early in his career and got alot out of an offense that wasn't overly rich in superstars. If Weis could somehow compel Ben to throw the ball away a few times a game instead of taking 15 yard sacks, and get somewhere much MUCH closer to the full potential out of the Steelers very talented offensive roster, the Steelers could easily average 28-30 points per game which would allow our defense time to heal and retool through the draft. Besides all of that, hiring Weis would deny the Patriots of doing so, which is the current speculation. The Steelers should make a splash, bite the economic bullet of the hiring of Weis, and show the fanbase that they won't sit idly by and watch Bruce Arians flush away our offensive potential game after game.
