From Champs to Chumps
All the talk that the Stillers are fine, there is nothing to worry about, while they were losing to the Bears and Bengles early in the season, after defensive collapses in the fourth quarter has regulated the Champs to Wild card status maybe. I say maybe because they have to play the Ravens twice, could we get sweep by them also? All indications show it could happen and 11-5 might be sitting at home this year come playoff time. There were many post on this site that cried that to many us were too negative when we were pointing out poor coaching and piss poor play of a once proud defense that was ranked first in the NFL last season and played like it to become Champs. Now we have given instant credibility to the hated Bengals and regulated the Steelers to Chump status. When you get sweep by Cinci, a team you have no business losing to, you have laid a turd that cannot be polished. I sure many will try but remember every time you rub it, you just uncover another layer of stink.

At least you can win the games your supose to win. It be one thing if you lost against a superior opponent but to take a sweep by the Bengals. Your the one who needs to get another team since your fine with less. Cinci bandwagon may do for you

You can't just assume that the Bengals suck and we "should" beat them because they are the Bengals.
That was an off game for Ben all the way.

no we should have beat them because of the following reasons
1. Our D fence never gave up a td
2 we have to many weapons on the O
3 we have a running game "ariens doesnt know that but we do"
4 we played at home
we are not in a good place right now 11-5 may not get us to the playoffs
the division is a must have for us this year and we pissed it away on sunday and in the big picture we may have pissed the playoffs away
but you say its ok ben had a bad day
he sure as hell picked a bad time to have a bad day

11-5 will make it. we have the head to head tiebreaker vs SD and denver, and i don't think houston or jax will make it to 11-5. nobody in the east looks like they're going to overtake new england, and miami (2nd in east) will have to run the table to make 11-5. Division championship seems unlikely at this point, but if we go to 11-5 most likely that will land a #5 seed

Before we concede the division I have a weird feeling about Cincy and Oakland this weekend. The last time the Bengals beat us they should have lost in Cleveland. I just have a weird feeling about them travelling accross the country to Oakland.

Didn't say it was ok. Said it was true. and that the Bengals don't suck anymore. That's a fact.

that's true, and jamarcus russell getting benched maybe is an upgrade for the raiders. qb play has been their achilles heel, believe it or not their squad looks decent minus the qb. if that backup can have a decent day, who knows.
Re: From Champs to Chumps
I think 11-5 is a good season, not a great season but it will get you in the playoffs 95% of the time. I think New England missed it last season at 11-5 but its rare. 11-5 and first round playoff lose sounds about right at this point.

Listen to yourself. projecting possible help from the Raiders 2nd string QB
All interesting 2nd derivative discussion. But if the Steelers take care of our own dang business, all will be well
You know, like beating the Bengals AT HOME!?!

Re: From Champs to Chumps
he got a point, jamarcus russell is pretty terrible. I'd also assume that any backup qb in the LEAGUE could post a passer rating better than JR's pitiful 42 or whatever it is. most likely not enough to beat the bengals though, that's wishful thinking

Gotta go 11-5 first The way the Steelers are showing up on Sundays (notice I didn't say playing) 11-5 may be a pipedream
