Swap Lamar And Timmons

Postby deltadweller » Sun Oct 11, 2009 10:08 pm

Is it me or does that make too much sense? Woodley is bigger and slower and should be able to stuff the run better from the inside, and Timmons is extremely fast for an LB. On passsing downs Farrior and Woodley should be off the field. Either that or just go to the 4-3 and have Woodley put a hand on the ground.

Makes perfect sense to me. Woodley stinks. His two sacks came from a result of pressure from two corner blitzes where Culpepper ran right into his arms.

I suggested last week move Timmons to Woodley's spot and inserting Fox at Timmons spot.
Fox played lights out in the preseason.
Woodley hasn't done enough to justify being on the field in any spot

Let the season play out. Lamar does not all of a sudden suck. His talent is still there. Same with Harrison.

The only cheap sack is one in which the game's outcome is not in question. It was two of those sacks yesterday that kept Culpepper from driving for the tie. I would remind that when we played off in coverage on the drive before, they scored a touchdown. When we pressured, they couldn't move down the field.

And yes, some of the sacks were scheme sacks and some were coverage sacks. Does anyone want to do an analysis on last years stats and see how many of our sacks were coverage or scheme- driven? That is what defensive coordinators do.

Over the year, these things will even out. By the way, we won.

I would not want lamar woodley in any pass coverage. I watched him the entire game and he seems like he is lost out there. He was falling down everywhere. I suggest you put him as a DE on passing down or swap him with timmons on the outside. Add Fox to the middle. But we definitely need someone to possibly take Farrior spot on passing downs as well.

Yes he does all of sudden SUCK. And no his talent is not there. It is lost from gaining weight to try and be the King of Tity Jousters against right tackles of the league.

It's clear as day to me.

Timmons makes a better OLB than Woodley, no question about it at all.

Woodley only got the chance to play there ahead of Timmo because of his 2007 pre-season groin injury.

As far as I'm aware Timmons was drafted to play OLB not Middle.

Square peg round hole, said it for ages!

Woodley was tremendous last year. He is not now. Are you really ready to give up on him? Hopefully he will either get it together this year or realize he is endanering his career and come back next year ready to rip, in top form.

I am not ready to give up on Woodley, but I am ready for Tomlin to send a message that he will not accept poor play. Dick won't do it, but Tomlin needs to use the stones he gets credit for so often and make a move.

They should rotate Timmons to the outside and bring Fox in for a few series a game to see how it goes. Maybe that would wake Woodley up. Otherwise, he can just keep eathing and get ready to put his hand on the ground for the 4-3 next year.

I knew he was fat and out of shape when he had to come out of the NIGHT GAME SEASON OPENER against the Titans with leg cramps. There is no excuse for a professional athelete to get dehydrated in a night game. I guarentee you that was a product of not being in shape, rather than just skipping the water bottle.
