shit this is bad news. the last time frankenstein was injured our defense fell apart... and even worse news, it's already in bad shape WITH him.

let's hope the kid can step up like I said when mendenhall got the start. but this time i'd have to be less optimistic. aaron smith is a bigger pair of shoes to fill than willie parker

"By no means is Ziggy Hood a potential replacement for Aaron Smith"----Mike Tomlin.
It's going to be a rotation of Zig,Eason and Kirchske. This is like losing Polamalu all over again.

Weird. A lot of people were calling for more Ziggy before the injury. Cause our line was getting old...

Now he has a chance, the way Ben Roethlisberger had his chance playing for an injured Tommy 'the Gun" Maddox. Ziggy has shown signs of manhood, but Aaron Smith is a MONSTER.

Someone please tell me more on the injury???

Tomlin said Ziggy Hood, their first-round draft choice, is not yet ready to replace Smith as the starter and they would do so "by committee."

This just goes to show the full extent to which most of us have no clue what we are talking about.

Sounds like Ziggy subscribing to the school of Mendy/Sweed of either not keeping his nose in the playbook or just plain not working hard. Last time A.Smith was out the run D was a disaster, led by the human turnstile, Brett Keisel. Lackluster Lamarr Woodley playing bad enough now he'll really have treadmarks up his back.

We just don't know what's going on. Have to figure the coaches who are in practice every day do And I never heard it said that Sweed does not read or know what is going on. He has other issues.

Eason and Kirchske are not the answer. Put Ziggy in and lets see some energy. The D line needs a lift, why not put a potential spark in. Playin DE is not playin Safety or Corner...rush the god damn QB and put him on his back!

Woodley is getting fatter by the day and played DE in college, maybe he can fill Smith's shoes.

It couldn't hurt. All he needs to do is stand up and take up space. That's all he's doing at linebacker currently. Let Fox try his hand at OLB and see what happens. It shouldn't be too hard replacing "Jason" Woodley's "production" so far this year.

Only thing Woodley good for is a tity jousting contest. He cannot stop the run now let alone in the end position.

I think to be fair you can't say every day. It's more like every day and a half. ;)
