Calm Down Everybody, I found Lamarr Woodley, by postgamehero
I'll be sure to look for this on this Sundays game. Note, watch the video footage outlining the argument at the end.

On the segment in the 1:16 mark, you can see where it was his middle pressure that allowed Farrior to break through.
He seemed to actually do quite well out in the flats and defending the pass, and got real close on a couple of sack plays. What do you guys think?

Uh, sorry. I'm going to call BULLSHIT on this.
this is the EXACT SAME bullshit tripe we heard about GilDong and then Porter when he rapidly declined. "He's CONSTANTLY in coverage." and, "He's always dropping back."
Guess what? Even safeties and CBs make TACKLES and hits. Big Fuking LaMarr is basically making ONE HALF SOLO per game. That's it. Even a sorry bastard like Larry Foote or Ty Carter does better than that.
And, I find it comical that the imbecile who did this report (sic) failed to mention what Woodley was doing on the 4th & 10 late in the Cinci game. That's the play where Woodley literally got PANCAKED, while RUSHING, onto his ass. Maybe the whiz boy can post a video of that laugher of a play.
Enough of the bullshit EXCUSE MAKING. Time for Jason, er LaMarr, to MAN UP and start playing like a man, rather than a complete fuking pussy.

The thing that bothers me is that your opinion here may be absolutely correct, but 4 games does not a season make. Nor do 4 bad games necessarily mean that it is all Woodley's fault. I don't sit and analyze the games every play, but do you think that Woodley's phenomenal year last year may have garnered him a little extra attention from our opponents? Is James Harrison having a suck ass year (Gildong quality) because his stats have dropped dramatically from last year? Again, I think his defensive MVP honors have attracted some attention from the other teams. It looks to me like Harrison is playing just as hard as he did last year and his time will come. Same with Woodley. If teams have adjusted to our OLB's pass rush, then it is up to Dick LeBeau to counter their adjustment.
My last point is this: Gildong proved his "value" (or lack thereof) over the course of many seasons of lackluster play. IMO comparing Woodley to Gildong is extremely premature. It's only been 4 games. The season is an incomplete body of work right now.
Again, you may be right. But the fact that you are already to annoint Woodley as the next Gildong is a bit harsh. HE DOES NEED TO PICK IT UP THOUGH. I just think LeBeau needs to help him out a bit too schematically.
Just my humble opinion.

"SAME bs tripe we heard about GilDong nad then Porter when he rapidly declined." -this is an ambigous reference. Who rapidly declined? Porter or GilDong? Were you referring to both? Then you should have said "when they rapidly declined. Just a grammatically poor sentence.
And the fact that Porter lead the league in sacks last year should tell you that he still has the talent, and maybe was being utilized differently (more coverage) with us his last couple of year here. GilDong appropriately left here and was never more than a whisper in the NFL.
Stating that Woodley is the next Gildon, is very similar to saying Mendy is the next Franco - in my humble opinion. WAY TOO EARLY!

WTF???
Seriously... WTF??? This is a football site for the discussion of football matters. If you ain't posting about football then GTFO!!!!
And as far as Porter's sack numbers go in Miami... he had 5.5 in 2007 before putting up 17.5 last year. Basically, us kicking his ass to the curb was a wake up call that his days of titty-jousting and collecting a fat paycheck were over.

and Larry Foote is in top 10 in solo tackles this season.
James Farrior - top 6 in tackles for the season 2008, with 3.5 sacks, 6.5 sacks in 2007, and two pro-bowls but still mill thinks they all suck too.

Agreed, I'm just trying to understand why there seems to be such a big difference in the level of defensive pressure thus far, especially from our standout playmakers (though, it's unfortunately noticeable without Troy, who obviously allows our DC to focus on other areas of the field....Our defensive scheme is a 3-4 Troy.)
But there isn't a big difference in our defense in terms of stats. We're still ranked 5th overall in the league (I know this will still dissappoint many a Steeler fan) 6th against the pass and 3rd against the run.
Stats through first 4 games compared to the first four games last year:
............................... 2008...........2009
Points allowed............58.............72..........An average of 3 points more per game.
Yards allowed............939...........1119........An average of 45 yards more per game.
And that slight regression has been the difference in our games. Maybe it's attributable to the SB pressure from other teams, maybe its Troy's pressence that actually accounts for 3 points/45 yards better per game? Whatever the case, is it that noticeable of a difference to go from 1st ranked to 5th ranked?!

I say what I wanna say, do what I wanna do.
It would be awesome if everything was awesome. Not being happy with our play is one thing, but focusing on the execution despite the win is silly. We ranked 23 in rushing last year and won the super bowl. I'd rather win the super bowl than be 1st in rushing. I still want to be a great running team, but it does not cause me grief when we win.
I am still critical of our piss poor play, but I just don't let it make me miserable when we WIN THE DAMN GAME! We still aren't playing at a champonship level, but we have a championship-caliber team and at the end of the year, I believe we will be right there. I genuinely see a nice win streak in our immediate future.
My humble opinion.

at least GILDONG would have registered a DONG sack by now
in all honesty, i still think woodley can turn this year into a productive season. he's come close to making the sacks, the qb's this year are just throwing it away a lot sooner. lack of press coverage is allowing a lot of qb's to throw it early and underneath for quick completions, which i blame on defensive scheming more so than woodley/harrison not getting the sacks.
the problem i see with the defense is our coverage is weak forcing us to play off them more so than we'd like to. losing polamalu hurts, but also losing mcfadden to FA is a factor. our coverage, until we have a healthy troy P back in the lineup, will not be comparable at all to last year's.

Is it just me, or have NFL officials been instructed to not call holding on whoever is assaulting
James Harrison? Woodley has been reading his own press clippings, but what linemen have been
doing to Silverback can be considered illegal in 17 states and the District of Columbia.
