I don't want to look ahead to Detriot, but ...
SportsTicker reports Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (knee) twisted his right knee during the team's Week 4 game. QB Daunte Culpepper replaced Stafford, who will undergo more tests in Detroit.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing for our game next week?

I would rather face a rookie who doesn't have it together yet. I think Culpepper should be starting in Detroit to begin with.

I would definitely rather face Stafford. ANY rookie facing Lebeaus schemes would sh#@t the bed at some pt - like Flacco last yr. Even as bad as the D's been, Stafford won't know dink about dealing w/ it. I hope he heals fast.

Who ever we face needs to be running for their lives in the pocket. Calvin "Megatron" Johnson is a freak and a scary assignment for anyone. Anyone, even "Swagger" himself.

It doesn't matter. Either Stafford or Culpepper will be toast.

Updating previous reports, Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said during a press conference that QB Matthew Stafford (knee) is considered day-to-day with his knee injury, and the team will know more about his condition Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Tom Kowalski, of MLive.com, reports Pittsburgh Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley said the Steelers believe Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (knee) will start in Week 5.

If I were Matthew Stafford I wouldn't be too worried about LaMarr Woodley and his whopping 0 sacks

0 sacks but Lamarr has 4 tackles in 4 games!!! DPOY numbers right there.
Re: I don't want to look ahead to Detriot, but ...
personally, i like to stay focused on pressures that affect the result of the play. sacks are a cool stat. especially for a steelers fan. the important thing is pressure the QB. disrupt the timing. we've been great at that for 3 quarters this year. that's all it takes for opposing teams/coaches to figure out how to exploit a polamalu-less D. don't worry. when polamalu gets back, we will see more sacks.

Re: I don't want to look ahead to Detriot, but ...
I think it was the Cincy game (or Bears) where Farrior came in on a blitz (somewhat of a delayed rush) as he circled around between the center and left guard who were tied up with Hampton and Keisel. He either got to the QB or was certainly in his face to disrupt the play.
WHY don't we se more of this "stunting", delays by the LB's while the opening is being created for a blitzer?
Is it me or does it look like our blitzers (DB's or LB's) are "purposely" running into the blockers? It just does not seem they are looking to find the gaps to get to the QB. Even when Troy or other DB's are coming, it seems they run right into the block instead of "shooting a gap".
Anyone else notice this? Woodley a non-factor so far as he always seems blocked to me. We have no turnovers to speak of like we had last year. I can't believe it is the Foote-Timmons swap. Help me out here.

This is Dick's now famous "Velcro" blitz where each defender locks onto the blocker for the entire play.

TOO FUNNY !!
Yes, NOW I understand. I get it. Now I know why Defense huddles are short and quick:
Farrior (in huddle),.. "Hey, Guys, Dick just called,..VELCRO - VELCRO- VELCRO !!---Everybody got that?"
"No problem, Potsie, jus' same play as las' play"
Seriously, so it isn't just me being nit-picky? Does it seem that way to you too?
