d fense sucked balls
Is anybody going to cover Gates???? The offense did above and beyond its job....The defense fell asleep second half...again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

without troy there's really nobody with the ability to cover gates really. but regardless giving up that many points in the 4th quarter is inexcusable, even without troy

I'm sorry, but I completely disagree. There is a FUNDAMENTAL defensive axiom that states, never give the TE a free release off the line of scrimmage. This is mostly ignored in today's NFL, but it would be extremely effective against Gates. He would be a lot easier to cover if his first move was to get Harrison's or Woodley's helmet out of his chest.

Can anyone cover Gates? 31 teams in the NFL finish a game saying that. Gates is simply the best offensive player on the field for these two teams. No surprise we can't cover him because no one can.

With Polamalu out, I agree that no Stillers defender can cover Gates...Any of the LB's are too slow to cover him, and the DB's can't physically match up to him strength and size wise. That's why a tight end is so dangerous.
