Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Pittsburgh Steelers DE Aaron Smith and WR Hines Ward sat out practice Wednesday, Sept. 16, so they can rest;
FS Tyrone Carter (personal) was excused from practice Wednesday, Sept. 16, for personal reasons;
WR Limas Sweed (foot) and LB Lawrence Timmons (ankle) were listed as limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 16. Both are considered questionable for Week 2.
