Because if the Titans fake the kick - you want a guy with 4.4 speed and killer instinct to be out there to stop it. Titans already ran a beautiful fake punt in preseason.

I don't have a source for this, but I heard that Tyrone Carter said afterward that he has the option on field goals to go out and "tap" TP43 to send him off, sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't. He said he almost went out that time but for some reason he didn't.
