Stillers have become the Colts

Postby SteelPower » Mon Sep 14, 2009 4:01 pm

In watching the game against the Titans the other night it occured to me after watching our non-existent running game that we have become the Colts. Thanks to a very talent challenged offensive line, a idiot in BA calling plays and running backs that cannot see a hole unless it is big enough that you can drive a pickup through it, The Stillers are regulated to threw the ball when it is 3rd down and yard and half to go. The Colts and Peyton will threw everytime it is over one yard for the first. What a sad commentary this offense has become. Can you live with just the passing game? It only worked for the Colts once in which they brought home the SB trophy. :suxfingers:

One huge difference between Colts and Steelers is the defense.

i bet if the ___(insert any teams name here)____ had our defense they would have won at least 5 super bowls this decade (unless Bruce Arians was their O-coordinator).

I have been thinking the same thing. Offensively, we are the old Colts.

Hopefully, like last year, the running game will get better as the season progresses. We should also keep in mind that no team runs consistently against a good run defense. Time and again, Steeler fans have seen this when opposing teams that run the ball well come to play us and do nothing on the ground.

There may still be hope.

I don't give a sh**t about last yr - if you have to go empty-set shotgun on 3rd & <2, you won't go to the SB unless you are really lucky. That being said, every team has a weakness somewhere. The big difference between them & the Colts is that Indy had top-notch RB's like James & Addai who can catch the ball in spaces designed for their success. I saw 1 play w/ Moore last yr vs the Ravens where he caught the ball in space & gained about 15 yds.
